Hoo! Finally got around to finishing the damn second season. Now it's time to read through this thread without worrying about spoilers!

Anyone else excited about the upcoming movie?
I don't really care if it takes forever to come out. I'm just relieved I haven't exhausted my supply of k-on goodness!

Yeah, I found out about K-on thru this Thread, and found the entire series on the Internet. I am also looking forward to the Movie and have begun collecting the Mangas (Vol 1 is the only one I know of that is out now)

I love this anime. I love the songs too. Been trying to learn some of them, but Mio is such a beast that the songs have been challenging.

In more K-On! news. The Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) announced a K-On!! live concert event on its website. The event, “Come with Me!!,” is scheduled for Sunday, 20 February 2011 in the Saitama Super Arena.

The last Live event was fantastic, even though it wasn't sub-titled and I couldn't understand anything.. There's a streaming version of the first one out there.. Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link though..

The last live event was on 12-30-2009 and the dvd/blu-ray was out in Japan by March. So maybe by May or June for the new one.

Yes, they are working on an English dub of K-On.

They are also making a Movie. I've read both the Manga and watched the Anime (english Subbed). Awesome Series.

Oh, nice to see this thread back. Saturday one of my bands is gonna play the full version of "No, thank you" live for the first time - we've played the TV size version a couple of times. Random Polish crowds who've never heard of the anime seem to really dig the song, actually.

I don't know if I"m going to like the english dub...here's a home recording that Mio's english voice actress did at home of the ED. Maybe it'll sound better in a recording studio, or maybe it's just the lyrics, but yuck!

Some of the songs are pretty complicated, but you can always simplify the arrangements (we do, since we do an acoustic version with only one guitar), slow the tempo down a bit, do the TV size version... Just give it a shot.

There's a couple of parts I can't figure out that involve a bit of slap/pop, but most of the other stuff I can play to some degree.

This is a joke video, right? A simple fandub?
They usually have professional sound-alikes for the singing parts when the voice actor's not up to par, so I don't see why they insisted on having the actual VA do it.

My ears hurt even when during the parts when she's NOT off-key.

Well, the voice actress commented on that video and said "I recorded this over a year before I learned I was cast as Mio. This is by no means a pro dub, just something I recorded for fun at home"

So, yes it kind of was a fan dub.

There is still hope that someone else will be singing or they will have some on guiding/helping her on the singing.

Will do, we'll be playing it at our singers' school's "foreign song competition" in a few weeks which will be officially videotaped. I do play left-handed, so it's a bit more "authentic" that way, though don't get your hopes up - I don't look much like Mio, haha.
