"Bass-wa Watashi"

Ha, if only we could have played it like that the week after the single came out and not several months later when the series is long over... Oh well.
Hey everyone! Just wanted to display my Short Scale K-On Family!!
From left to right we have Mio, a white Ibanez Mikro Bass with a 28.5 inch scale. Next is Azusa, a red & white Stratocaster copy by Jay Turser with a 24 inch scale. And last is Yui, a black Epiphone Express Les Paul Copy with a 22 inch scale.
On the backs I had some special vinyl decals made for me just for these guitars! The picture below is hi-res so you can take a closer look at the decals.
The three baby guitars reminded me of our 3 girls so I just had to name them. Even though they are not duplicates of what the girls play I felt they carried their spirits!!
These guitars are not only short scale but also are all 3/4 size. Thus the bodys are all proportionaly smaller also. These little guitars are great fun to play especially if you are a smaller person with smaller hands. With a few upgrades and mods they sound great too!
Below is a picture with my standard Fender Telecaster as a size comparison. Thanks again!

Hopefully you can eventually upgrade to the actual instruments:
Fender Jazz, Fender Mustang, and a Gibson Les Paul.

It was never my intent to try to get the original instruments. Those are out of my price league. Plus I'm a drummer! I just really like the smaller sized instruments and when I had this trio together it just reminded me of the girls! Small and cute!

Well I do own about a dozen different drum kits. And I do have a small portable kit similar to Ritsu's Yamaha Rick Marotta Signature Hipgig #HG6T46RM Drum Kit. It's not yellow though, it's silver sparkle. A 16" floor tom from the 90's, 10" & 13" half stack toms from the 80's, a 20" kick from the 70's, and a 13" piccolo snare from the 60's!! The kit spans 4 decades! The two toms and the cymbals all attach directly to the kick drum like on Ritsu's Yamaha kit. No cymbal stands! And of course I also use Zildjian cymbals.
I hadn't thought about it but I guess I'll have to name that kit Ritsu!

OK, here's a crazy question. What color is Mio's bass strap? Going through all my photos it never seems very well defined. It's usually dark, somestimes black other times a bit more on the dark brown side. Anyone got a definitive pic?
Also will be posting pics soon of my newly acquired J bass. It is a Mio bass look alike. However it is a short scale fretless! Right now working on some mods both internally and externally.

OK!! Here is some more eye candy! I just purchased and finished the mods on my Mio tribute bass. It's a SX short scale fretless J-Bass!
Got the brown tortoise pickguard from Jeannies. Also did an extensive electronics mod. See the details HERE.

That bassist must play at least three or four times as many notes as I do on the same song! But not in a "too many notes" way. Even doubles the short guitar solo note for note.
