Bass with a whammy bar?

I've never owned or played one, although I'd love to!
Randy Coven used to play at Queens College frequently, when I was a student there way back when. I'm pretty sure
he had one and got a lot of use out of it.

Wild! I was almost going to ask if anyone had ever tried that, but thought nawww.... shoulda known! So what do you think of it, how do you use it with fretless?
Really loving it so far, only have had this bass for about a month or two now.
Warmoth Body and a Allparts P neck.
I've had trems on a few of my other basses, switched to fretless then wanted a fretless with a trem but didn't have the heart to route into my Tony Franklin Fender.
It is sort of redundant having a trem on a fretless but, you can't dive bomb with out the trem.
Since I'm a dork and sometimes learn guitar parts on bass, I'm liking sliding up instead of bending or using the trem if its a going the other way.
Fun to mix it up and I find it just adds even more expression to the fretless.
Cool, thanks. I've never been into dive bombing, but I actually do like a bit of vibrato, wonder what it'd feel like and sound like to coordinate left fingers with the bar...
The adventure of trying to find all the stuff to do with it is alot of fun.
Hitting a sliding harmonic and throwing the trem in there was the first thing I did when I got it.
I think people tend to write off trems on bass rather easily, but like any other technique or effect, with time, patience and practice there is always something to discover.
Adding a new color to paint with so to speak.
And for dive bombing, I play mostly in a metal band and when plugged into a 8x10, doing a dive bomb moves ALOT of air.

les claypool I have seen use his tremolo I've played one it's very interesting if it has lock downs it's ok

I built it back in 2013 I think, and soon after removed the bar itself, but left the bridge. It's pretty stable, and it's nice to have a bass with a whammy if I ever need it.

That is AMAZING!.... I want the same, just in a darker brown wood!
I think this Aria was set up at the factory with a Kahler but I could be wrong. It does rock though.
