bass with drums?

ok so me and my friend would play fingerstyle bass with drums and i know about that, but how do you get slap bass to sound right with drums? we just cant get it!

try playing the same lines you would play finger style only you're playing slap... I like to keep dead notes to a minimum as the drums are already playing extremely percussive... also I know that when I was first doing slap with other people I realized I was rushing like mad...
