I can go maybe a week, if I have been gigging heavily. During low season, I probably play more consistently, but can still go perhaps 3 days between instances. It might be a function of longevity; I've been playing nearly 30 years.

Bass Withdrawal: How long until you feel it?

You've were getting your daily morning freak back in 8th grade? Man, I think I would've enjoyed growing up in WV!!
Longest I haven't played my bass was about a month or 2, it killed me lol.
I had a lot of other things going on at the time, photography took a lot of that time up, with shooting the photos and the editing, karate up to 3 times a week, spending time with my (ex) girlfriend, working out at the gym, working 3 shift patterns.
But since I broke my wrist and had it plated, no gym, no karate, split with my girlfriend (not cause of the wrist lol), photography has taken a back seat for a while, I've got more time to play bass again.
Would love to get back into a band again, it's been too long.

Anymore I only pick it up to gig or practice with the band. I play guitar (acoustic) daily however. For me bass is another instrument and the one I hold in the band but I get bored just playing bass alone unlike guitar.
No more than 2 hours. With being laid up the last few years, I've gotten into the practice of keeping a bass next to me in the living room.
After 30+ years, I still average 2-3 hours of practice daily. My guitarist hates me for it (he can't be lazy).

As I got married and my usual bandmates scattered around the world I endured 7 years (2001 to 2009) without strumming a single note, sold all my gear, forgot all about playing with bands et al... but for some unknown/mystic reason, as soon as I got divorced, the whole thing came back in force!
Now I can't go for more than 4-5 days without picking up the bass and no more than 2 weeks without jamming. I'm hooked for life that's it!

I work in a cigarette shop. It's the most boring crap in the world when its slow (like this week). So I bring a bass every day. Every now and then somebody will walk by while I'm playing on a smoke break and jam a few buck between the strings
It depends on how much I think about it. If I realize I haven't played anything all day (like NOW, why'd you remind me 
) I get all bothered. People say don't go to bed angry, I say don't go to bed without playing bass.

I don't bring my bass with me every day, but generally 2 or 3 times a week I'll take it in with me. Generally I cram down lunch on my first coffee break, and play through my actual lunch, sometimes I'll play a bit during my second coffee break as well.
Normally I use a headphone amp, but I have a small practice amp I play through on occasion, when things are slow and I feel like I won't be disrupting my co-workers.

Once upon a time I got rid of all my gear except for my ole TBird which I mounted over the fireplace like an old shotgun. Swore I'd never play again! That lasted for 8 years. The relationship I was in at the time also lasted 8 years. After having 'the talk' one night the TBird fell off the wall. Coincidence? I think not
Anyway.... I took my '2 piece' TBird to a place called Song Bird Music (no kidding) and they repaired my decapitated bass and I haven't gone more than about a week without playing since. Yes I do go through withdrawal when I go on vacations lol.
