i palyed a dod-fx25 on a bass the other night, i loved the sound, it was the craziest quacking hot sound to ever funk that basement jam. how does this compare to the bassballs, im contemplating buying one of the 2, i definatly need a filter.

I guess I'm going to have to buy up a load of them to test out! Thank god they're cheap.
The best FX25 is the old one that is a lite lima green color. Not dark green, but real lite lima green
Wich is better: the old FX25 or the newer FX25B?
+1 - the Bassballs is a very unconventional filter with a certain sound. I have one on my board, but I find that I have to go looking for ways to use it. It's not going to fill your need for a competent auto-wah/envelope follower-type effect, since it is such an odd beast. For me, I could see keeping the BBalls around for the one tune in a hundred where it would sound right, as it's not a bad sound per se.
