Thank you I have seen them. I'm actually looking at a few others such as Wilfer and Björn Stoll. I have some concerns about ordering new ones as they are all located in Europe and lots to deal with. Dollar exchange, shipping duty ect etc. Thanks very much

"Hi I spoke to him last year about making me a bass. Nice guy he did tell me that he uses only Italian woods. But then I saw this online. Looks like wood from Romania. Double bass Spruce Top No. 103, A Grade – Carpathian Tonewood "

I hope all of you guys are doing wonderful. This Profile named MMBF in his post he is saying "he spoke with me about a year ago about making him a bass", this is not the truth, if that was the case, why is he then fishing information on TB about me? Makes no sense at all, when you speak with somebody a year before you clearly have a way to contact him.

We exchanged a good number of emails this month and he is listed here a member from NY 11501 but he is not sharing his info in the emails, just a generic Italian name, after I requested him to share his Phone # to call him he is not taking phone calls because he works for the Government, he is finally sharing his last name, but this time he confirms he is from a city in OH when his emails are coming from an IP# at a different location.

This person is Instead asking for a LOT of private Information about my work, travels, basses, pictures, Logistics, prices, when a customer has interest in ordering a double bass he is usually asking a LOT of technical questions, not this guy, all he wants is: "spruce, maple and a 104 string length", a bit too generic.

I have no problems sharing information with my customers about Basses, is my work and I do love it, I have a very nice and easy going way to talk with musicians also if are not buying anything, it is a pleasure to share emails but not in this case.

This person is clearly trying to do something else with his Post which is basically to say I lie to him about my woods being Italians but are coming from that link or from a different location, and there is clearly a deeper intention into what he wrote which I am not going to explain here.
Surely is a scam Profile.

Thanks everyone

Mr. Golia

I have no idea why you are stating this about me. The truth is that we did speak sometime ago of course I do not recall the date and time. Out of respect for you I will not disclose your phone number but the area code was 248. I actually tried to call you prior to this posting but no one ever picked up the phone and the mailbox was full. This is why I was simply asking TalkBass members if anyone had your contact information. If you see my posting on April 28, 2023 I simply stated "I can't find a web site or any contact info for his company" I do recall vividly what we discussed and I do recall you stating you use the finest "Italian woods." I'm sorry you may have forgotten. I have no idea what you are speaking of. I never emailed you. I'm sorry if you're confusing me with someone else Sir.
Furthermore I never stated you lied about your woods, I only posted something that was online for the world to see. You even made a comment stating the service was excellent. Double bass Spruce Top No. 103, A Grade – Carpathian Tonewood. I also have no idea why you would call my profile on TalkBass "Surely is a scam Profile". Again you clearly think I'm someone you have had email exchanges with. It's not me and for you to post this type of nonsense on this forum is beyond me. I have nothing further to say about this and will not get into any of this again. I urge you to get your facts and information together before you provide false and misleading information stating ""Surely is a scam Profile". Also stating other things that make no sense. Best of luck in your bass making and sales.

Moderators are aware of this thread. A back and forth between an anonymous new account and a known maker posting under their own name will always draw moderator attention. I suggest we move on from the current back and forth and focus our attention on the basses themselves, which, from what I can tell, seem to be held in the highest esteem of those members here who own them.

I love my bass. My wife is sick of hearing about it, so I will gush here instead :)

In June I will have some proper studio recordings but till then all I've got are quick and dirty phone mp3 recordings from a recent gig. I know I really like the sound of something when it comes across okay on a phone recording. No amp for this gig so I got to really enjoy the acoustic tone.

I am fortunate to count Luciano as a personal friend. His kindness and generosity to the international double bass community is well documented. Unfortunately there have been some who have sought to take advantage of that. I won't dwell on that.

Instead, I would like to say that I've had my Golia bass for almost 10 years now, and it just keeps on getting better and better. It is the easiest playing large bass I have experienced by far. And as mentioned previously, it responds very quickly and very precisely to any technique applied to it.

I have had opportunities to play several remarkable basses including Fendt, Carcassi, Kennedy, DaSalo, Prescott, as well as many basses by modern luthiers. I place my Golia double bass among them with the greatest confidence.

Please note, though I'm a commercial user, I have no arrangement with Luciano other that of a satisfied customer.
