Basses that have 17mm bridge spacing..

Also you might look at Warwick. I know their 5 string bridge has the ability to adjust the string width and I can't remember but I do not think the 4 string bridge is any different. The Corvette 5 which is a fine bass that can be generally had for a song has 16.5 mm spacing from the factory. The German five strings can be had all day long for under $700.

17-18mm feels so much better to me than 19mm

I have a Streling SUB that I would love to get a different bridge for and tighten up the spacing. Do any of the 4 string Rays have less than 18mm? Maybe the Sterlings as posted above?

Careful! Don't assume string spacing based upon the bass maker. Many (most?) high-end companies will make basses with either 17.5 mic or 19mm spacing at the customer's request. That is certainly true with Alembic, Fodera, MTD, Modulus, Pedulla and Spector - and probably others as well.

All 4 string Ernie Ball basses are 19mm.

The import SUB basses would be the best choice for a new, adjustable bridge. Also best because you already have one!

The real Ernie Ball and Sterling by Music Man basses have big holes routed to fit the proprietary bridge, which is 19mm.

My two Tune basses are 19mm.
My Ibby EHB is 17mm.
