Basses that stand out live visually, but aren't over-the-top

I think my 21" scale mini bass guitars do (never played anything over 24" scale).

Thunderbird and Epiphone Viola.
My girlfriend rates my bass looks:
Good: Epiphone Viola, Höfner, Rickenbacker, Stingray (I quickly flipped it), EB-2 (I aspire to own one someday).
Doesn't like its photos but likes it in flesh: Thunderbird, Steinberger clone (she only likes it without control knobs, commenting that it looks like a Soviet spacecraft).
Doesn't like it: EB-3, '51 P bass without scratchplate (no longer own).

Probably dating myself, but it is burned into my memory how tasteful and cool the bass is in the Incubus -Stellar music video. Never that big of a fan, but it stuck with me. Got a screenshot, not as many shots of that bass as I remember (totally forgot about the space part, lolz)

Also just saw this x-wing bass. It might even be over-the-top in a galaxy far far away…

I wish fanned frets didn't stand out quite so much. I love the way my Dingwall plays and sounds. I also really like the visual design, which is more than I can say for many other modern basses.
I am a little tired of having people come up and ask about the fanned frets, almost every time I play it out.
The best solution IMHO would be to have more multi-scale instruments on more stages.

These are probably over the top to many, that's ok. And they're pretty common in build being Mustangs and Musicmasters. The more "ambitious" color schemes were painted by my kids. That's a connection for me that's irreplacable. I love the bright colors and gig all of them.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. I think you have the COOLEST basses I've ever seen. I absolutely love them. Is Grumpy new?
