A jazz bass is the most ergomic bass there is for me. Just like a strat is for guitar. They got it right a long time ago.

I don't really like the extended Fender style headstock, it bumps into the vocalist's face all the timeView attachment 3655718
I agree about short scales. The Reverend Wattplower is light as a feather and very comfortable to play.
That's a good point! Never thought any it before, thanks so much for pointing that out! I guess it's the reason why the upper horn on the NS Design bass is very long?If you are concerned with fretting hand reach when the bass is strapped on, I have found that the upper horn has to be in line (or close to) the 12th fret. Anything shorter and the neck reach will be longer in the 1st position and may also have neck dive issues.
For example, I have always liked the look of Spector basses. I recently tried one (Euro5) in store and then asked for a strap to try it on and sure enough, with the upper horn aligning roughly with the 14/15th fret, the neck felt long and it didn't balance well. That would be a deal breaker for me.
What's the scale length?I owned a white Motion B just like theView attachment 3655741View attachment 3655742 one in the photo. Players love or hate them. I thought it had good ergonomics, light and very easy on the left hand. I was much younger then and image was more important to me, so I went back to 34" scale bass. Its something to try if you can find a used one for sale
Thanks man. I used to have an Aria CSB-380 and the ergonomics were horrible. Very heavy, bad neck dive, and the neck was chunky. I might order an Ibanez Mezzo to give the 32" scale length another try. Thx!
Does the EB have a 32" or 30" scale length? ThxI find my Euro Spector fiver very comfortable to play. Same goes for the 2017 Gibson EB which is also one of the lightest basses I own.

I have small hands./QUOTE]
Out of personal curiosity, how big is your han if you spread your fingers all the way open and measure from the tip of the small finger to the tip of the thumb?
