I've got a '92 EBMM Stingray5 that I plan to go old and grey with. I like it so well that it has cured me of my GAS. I've looked at hundreds, if not thousands, of killer basses over the past 15+ years, but none of them feels or sounds quite right. My stingray5 is like a comfy old tee shirt.

I can't understand why Yamaha haven't kept the SBV going and over time improved on it....anyways, yes, I was thinking of posting a Show your SBV thread just to see what's out there, great little basses, a few other bassists at gigs comment on it's live sound....glad to see your a Samurai too enjoy!

P.S. I think Andy Rourke is a criminally underrated bassist.

I have had some basses I swore I would never sell, 64' P Bass, 74' Jazz, 80' Rick etc...I'd show them to you but I sold them...

With that said, this bass was a wedding present from my wife and it has sentimental value. It also happens to kick SERIOUS AMOUNTS of tail in any setting, any time, any where.

It's a monster that has never let me down and it continues to amaze!

Fender MIA Jazz Bass Plus (took the Kubicki guts out & Silver Lace Sensor P/ups out too, made it passive and put Nordstrand Jazz-Spilts), took the finish off the back of the neck and installed a pick up cover. It is my favorite bass and it has been through so much with me.

Nordy vJ5, with Nordstrand Fat Stacks... this bass can do jazz, MM, P-bass, Hi-fi/Lo-fi (Modern/Ol-Skool), pretty much the most versatil bass I have ever owned.
