Hey Jai! Your Nordy is THE Nordy in my book, one of my favorite basses ever....

Thanks Jake, it is really amazing! The only thing that is different from the pix, is that the bridge was changed to the Hipshot B-style bridge, the B string really rings out well.

The controls are Vol (pull for passive), blend, Tone (pull for single coil), Treble, Mid (pull for 800hz), Bass... The Aggie OBP-3 works very well in it, but in passive it really cuts through well.

Hope all is well up in A-ville, I'll make it over sometime soon.

Seriously brought a tear to my eye. I don't have any kids to leave any of my (23) basses or (13) guitars too so I am determined to find a whole lot of deserving musicians to hand them to when I am done.

I wanted a Ric since I was 14 and saved up money from summer jobs. While I was in college I used to walk a mile each way to the only shop for miles around that had a tobacco burst 4001. Finally managed to get one when my parents topped up my savings with enough money to get a secondhand 1973 Jetglo for my 21st birthday - so 14 to 21, waited a third of my life for it.

When I had a young family I was working too much overtime to play in a band and we were still broke. At one point we were so desperate for money that I 'sold' the Ric...that's to say, a buyer was literally handing over the money when my wife stepped in and said "Please don't sell it, I know how much it means to you, we'll get by somehow" so the bass was saved. Shortly afterwards I got a steady gig and the Ric helped put food on the table for the next 20 somethong years as my only bass.

It'll never get sold, but when I don't play anymore I will find a promising bass player who I can be sure will cherish it and give it to them

Dude, in my honest opinion, I'd say that Ric was from God Himself. Incredible story; inspirational, and moving. I'm going to go sing a lullaby to my J now...

Simple enough - my late 60s Apollo Beatle bass. A cheap Japanese copy but I gigged with it thru the late 60s and early 70s. Still in almost mint condition. It wasn't my first - that was a big, heavy red Silvertone, but this one will always be my 'baby' and is never for sale.

Yeah, I think it's a bit premature to say that bass I just got last year is one that I'll never let go.

When you've had it 10+ years,....that's a decent indicator.

I hesitate to say that I will "never sell" a bass.
Too many variables in life.

But this thread is a nice excuse for folks to show off their basses, and that's never a bad thing.
