i"ve had a 1964 pbass since 1966 that has been everywhere w/ me.i couldn't even begin to count the gigs it's been on..
i've had many other basses alongside it but this is the keeper.
i don't take it on out of town gigs anymore and lately i don't take it to many bar gigs (unless i can keep my eyes on it all the time). it seems more players are having their instruments stolen around here so i'm not taking any chances w/ it.
one time some drunk jerk fell into the p/a stack (while we were on a break) and knocked the bass over and came within inches wiping it out.imagine coming out of the band room and seeing a bunch of p/a cabs on top of your bass.to this day the guys i played w/ that night and i can't believe nothing happened to the bass outside of a dent in the e+a strings


btw:i could care less about it's "vintage value" . this is MY bass !! it is irreplaceable
when i go this goes in the box w/ me..

Probably won't sell this one -

1995 Lakland 4-94. One of the first 50 made. Neck feels like a great old P-Bass. Sounds fantastic live or recorded. And it's beautiful.
Plus, I'd have to change my avatar picture.

I'd never get rid of any of my basses. I'm very sentimental and quite like a collection of things. One day I shall have thousands of the things! =P

I don't think I will ever sell any of the basses that I own now but the one the I will definitely never sell is the one that the Music Man company made for me a few months back after my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer! This bass has so much meaning to it and I will be forever grateful to Sterling Ball and his company as well as the kindness that Beaver Felton and company, Bass Central, showed my family.

I can't imagine ever selling my Epi T-Bird. Mainly because I doubt anyone would want it, but nonentheless, it holds a special place in my heart, for sentimental (my first bass, very characterful) and practical (killer tone!) reasons.

The story behind this bass isn't as heart warming as the pink SR's above but similarly, it's proof that Sterling Ball cares about his customers. That and it's a one off also

My Streamer Jazzman 5 string and Corvette Std. Fretless. I'm just enamored with them both. The Thumb is gone. It only lasted a couple of months. Awesome tone but neck dive central. These are my only two basses now. I may add a third (fretless 5) down the road but it will have to be as perfect as these to for me.

my Warmoth Jaguar Bass...it's exactly what I want out of a bass...although, I'm having more ideas I want to build and stuff, that's just my GAS acting up...this could very well be my only bass for the rest of my life, and I'd be super satisfied with it. best bass I've ever played.
