It seems like I have really undergone a change, There are basses I like, but none I really dream of owning.
That "change", of which you speak, could either be due to; maturity, poverty or insanity!

I will one day own a Mike Lull Modern 5 fretless, because my fretted is by far the most comfortable and quality bass I own and I'd like for her to have a "sister". I've played one, and it's easily just as nice as the fretted version.
...but before that I'm pretty much dumping my entire collection of basses but one to sell and help finance a bunch of Spectors as my "everyday" basses. I've learned it's better to have a few great basses than a whole lot of decent ones, so I've already got a Rebop 5 DLX and a ReBop 5 DLX Lined Fretless on order. After that it's a ReBop 4 DLX and Euro LX6 (no six-string ReBops, unless I can convince PJ and Stuart ). So it'll be Spectors in 4, 5, fretless 5, and 6 varieties, my modded passive "recording" Jazz which is the one I'm keeping, my fretted Lull and one day the fretless. 7 basses that cover the spectrum pretty well is better than 10 that are "okay" but ultimately don't do the job. The benefit of being much lighter instruments and keep my back in better shape is a side one.

As soon as I find a early/mid '70's Jazz that I love for under $2k, I am buying it.
I have a great '74 P and with the way prices are going nuts for these older basses these days, I an determined to find the right '70's J before they are $4-5k.
