Basses

Some basses are just wood, plastic and metals blended and shaped into an object from which one can produce tones in the bass clef range, and that can also be used to anchor a boat or wheel chocks or used as a defensive/offensive weapon in a bar fight. Then there are those Basses that are clearly works of art worthy of framing and so masterfully built that they can produce tones so heavenly it is truly climatic.

Hmmm......Ive never once looked at a hammer and said "Gee, this is a beautiful hammer...it should be framed"..................and Ive gotten some fantastic tones out of many budget instruments that superceded many of their expensive counterparts...........<shrug> I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder....YMMV
