The key is to keep in mind the sophistication of Gene's super broad empire of business...and here's the two kickers:
Kiss and Gene both merchandise WAY better than the Beatles ever dreamed of. Which is hidden in terms of his "Net Wealth".
He has toured longer, and still tours to this day. And these are big long tours. On nights, many of which, he alone NETS $1,000,000.00. For one concert.
Gene's actual net worth, inclusive of "properties and license" is rumored to be valued in excess of $2.1 billion dollars. Most Internet info will say he's worth $4-500m. That's simply not the case. At all.

I'm guessing that KISS has always had better contracts (i.e. a slice of the pie) when it comes to all of the action figures, comic books, Halloween costumes, etc. The Beatles probably never saw a dime from that stuff. Also, I'm not sure what happened to the Beatles' catalog after Michael Jackson died. I seem to remember that Sony purchased it; I wonder if Paul is getting his royalties again. If he is, I'd be surprised if he isn't earning about 1000 times more annually than Gene Simmons, in that area.
I can believe that Gene Simmons's tours are longer than Paul's.
The thing is, Paul has been filling stadiums for 50 years. Fifty years! Unbelievable.

Well, I hate to argue, but Roger sang lead on the last two of the Dark Side, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, all(except the first part of dogs) animals, pretty much all of the Wall, and [probably] all of the final cut.
Sony paid Michael Jackson $95 million in 1995 - long before he died - to merge ATV - the company Jackson bought in 1984 (outbidding McCartney himself) that owned the publishing rights to most of the Beatles catalog - with Sony and form Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Throughout all the changes of ownership of the companies holding publishing rights, the Beatles were and still are, receiving 50% of all royalties collected, which is the standard deal.
Sony/ATV still owns the publishing rights.
Sure, Waters sang a few songs, and by the time they got to The Wall, he had taken over that band (and they all hated him). But Gilmour was their kickass tenor, and definitely was their bread and butter vocalist. I don't think anyone would argue that Gilmour was their "frontman."
Almost no one had as "signature" a vocal style that positively STAMPED a band like James DeWar on the first four Robin Trower albums. You know, the kind of voice that allowed you to identify the band in one or two bars?
PLUS he played a tasty bass line. I still list him as an "influence" on my profile. Yes, there are more famous bassist/vocalists, but how many were as TASTY? What a great, natural blues voice!
