Bassist Malcolm-Jamal Warner dead at 54

Apart from his known part at Cosby's, he was good at that series acting as a surgeon ! R.I.P. !

His flow, and lyrics remind me of Michael Franti, and Gil Scott-Heron.

Totally remember Theo from the Cosby Show. He was my favorite character. Yeah, the show is long over but I still remember it.
Now he's gone, drowned in Costa Rica swimming with family on vacation. So sad.
Thank you Mr. Warner for the laughs and good memories. I won't forget you.

Hmmm, didn’t know he was a bass player. Years ago there was a prominent NBA star who was a bass player of some renown, he I believe also died young. I can’t remember his name, someone here will probably remember him.

I will say the same thing about Malcolm Jamal Warner that I said about Wayman Tisdale: he had a good life, it just wasn’t a long life.

Sad news indeed.
The last time I saw him was at Bass Player LIVE! in Hollywood at SIR Studios about 15 years ago. He was sitting right behind me along with Nathan East and Bob Glaub watching a Chris Chaney clinic.

Talented dude, and gone waaaaaay too soon.
