I use my Stingray and my ibby's with this amp. we play alot of
Charlie Jordan's music and new stuff as well, Charlie comes up and leads worship 4 times a year, we have 2 basses going when he leads hehe. (for those who dont know charlie) check out his web site, he is a mighty man of God and he rocks on bass Link Removed.

Charlie gave me his warrior 5 string a month back when he got a new one, im pretty stoked but I have only been playing for a year and 1/2 so not to good with it yet.

i play a stingray V i think the color is lava pearl. it's the perfect bass for praise and worship. it does gospel it, does rock, it does country... the EBMM cuts through the clutter and is almost missing the mids that are filled up with tons of vocals, acoustics, etc that can make a church mix crowded. it's not the best bass for every band, but it is for my church set-up.

i play into a zoom B2 which for worship i can switch on a hint of chorus or a limiter (for when i get too excited) into a behringer sansamp wanna-be DI and that goes direct to the board. any funky EQing i can do from the bass or the DI if the monitor mix is wierd or the soundman is doing something wacky.

i have used my GK 1001rbII head as a DI on occasion, and it sounded killer, but i always don't want to lug it up there on my sundays. my church is on in-ears, except for me. i get a live monitor kinda loud with a slightly heavy bass mix. it is so if the in ears fail, we have something on stage. since i am heavier in the mix, and i can hear the drums right next to me, i don't wear the in-ears, and i stopped bringing my cab. so it's been nice to plug in and play.

i play 4 for my indie rock band , but i think having the 5-string with active is about mandatory in modern worship (and top 40 cover bands too) especially if you have to play unison to or as a substitution to any keyboard part.

the church i usually gig at plays: tomlin, crowder, U2, Passion, Third Day, Vertical momemtum, Lifehouse, Mercyme, Hillsong United, Delerious, etc... some of its good, some not, but my job is to get people into worship not be a music critic.

and i do. i love the man who leads. he's a great friend of mine, and that's totally what he was doing. and i love it when he does that. gives me time to play around, fill up some room, do some different stuff that doesn't really go with the vocal melody (all while being tasteful, of course), and it gives him a chance to go off and just say what he's feeling lead to say, which is always profound. i have no ego about playing churches, and i apologize if i made it seem like i did in my previous post. i know why i'm there, and it has nothing to do with me, or my skills, or anything else i may bring to the game.

Depends on what I'm doing. Playing at my home church in Tampa (about 700 people each service), I use my SM-400S and Rx 112. At my church down in Miami (for school) I play for the middle school services. I use my stupidly loud BL 212 - for about 50 kids each service. Go figure.

I've been playing a different Cirrus in church. I just bought these this week. The amp is definitely a step up from the crate I was playing. Can't wait to try them out this weekend.

I play an inexpensive Yamaha RBX170 (red w/ chrome hipshot O-ring knobs)90% of the time, it plays GREAT and gets the growl and thump I want...sometimes I play my Carvin AC40 (Englemann Spruce top w/ matching 2x2 headstock)...

I play into a Zoom B2.1u which I DI into the F.O.H...I also use a Laney HCM65B as my fallback amp (lately I'm having buzz problems with the new lights, so I'm in the process of building a transformer isolator for it)....

Also, since we play so many songs 1/2 to a 1 step down, I've been looking to get a 5-string...(part of my 2008 budget plan ;) )

Also, I'm seriously looking into getting myself an in-ear monitor, instead of using the amp...this way I don't have to lug it around

I am the main bas player at my church (we had special services all last week, played 8 days in a row). Right now I am playing a peavey foundation through a 100w yorkville combo and it is the tone that is in my head. My avatar is me playing my washburn status bass at a summer camp. Everyone else goes through the board, a really nice mackie mixer that we just got :):):):):):)

Practically every bass I've owned within the past 10 years has seen some time at church. Even the Bongo 5 I used to own. I usually either play through the PA or through my G-K 1001RB and an SWR Goliath Jr.

Lately the Roscoe LG-3005 fretless has been seeing the most action. We typically do 3 songs in the early morning service, and at least one is sort of ballad tempo, so the fretless gets those.

On Wednesday nights, I will sometimes bring the Lakland, but often I will bring one of my less played basses.

I use the Lakland at least one Sunday morning or evening a month, or when I am in the mood. I love the neck on it!

On my Sunday morning gig I play direct to the house (Bag End PA) via my Summit Pre and monitor through a GK 2-10. For Sat night service I use my IP 310 (at moderate volume!!) with my Summit.

Basses are Roscoe LG - 3005 and Kinal Fretless 5.

I play in a church of about 7,500 and I use an Ampeg SVT4 Pro and an SVT 810E cabinet. I play my Stingray 4 through it. They run out of the preamp out on the back of the head into a direct box straight to the board. They record every service in ProTools and the bass sounds decent in the recordings. I have received comments from people in attendance that the Stingray cuts through the mix like a knife. I give a slight boost to the bass and midrange knobs and cut the treble knob slightly and then set the amp completely flat. My backup plays a Warwick Corvette and I heard his bass once and it sounded really clanky and boomy in the house mix. This may be accredited to how he EQ's his bass and the amp. I think alot of my sound comes from the way I play because I tend to attack harder than the other bass players in our church. The sound guy says he has to make special adjustments for me when I play.

I worship with my Nordy vj5. Her name is Purity and she has 1 Timothy 4:12 lasered into the back of the peghead. I go direct to the board and use the Aviom monitor system with Sony MR 7506 phones. I love it !
It is a wonderful church named Remnant Ministries and the band is on fire- we even have Ronnie Foster on B3 ( Ronnie was with George Benson for years and appeared on Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life ) and our pastor is Randall Cunningham, ex quarterback for the Eagles and a wonderful man of God. Not to name drop, we are glorifying The Lord.
Worshipping on Sundays is my favorite gig ever.
