She is 24 now and still amazingly healthy. She just had to start taking medicine for her thyroid a few months ago as she lost a lot of weight. The Vets LOVE her.

What have you fed her all these years? That's an amazing age and she still looks like she's having fun!

Basic cat food until about a year ago. No table scraps, my gal is totally against that. I'm not as.... adherent to that policy ;) ( shhhh!!! ) but it's pretty rare when I share anything.

So the part that usually makes some folks testy is that she has been an indoor/outdoor cat her entire life. The first 10 years were mostly in the foothills and when we came to the city it was just as well to let her continue on as she was used to. She has been spayed since she was able to be. The last year or so we've had to give her soft food as her teeth are mostly gone now from age or fighting ... she is an ornery cuss when it comes to protecting her yard. I think that is the biggest factor in her long life. She has been active the entire time checking the perimeter of the property, climbing fences and getting in a scrap or two. It's a cat version of P90x really. Add in the ton of love she gets and there you have it. I should mention I was NOT a cat person before The Diva. I had dogs, mostly medium and big ones. I didn't dislike cats I just preferred dogs. On our 2nd date I met her cat, who promptly jumped in my lap, licked my nose and laid down. My gal was stunned as The Diva is pretty much anti social and especially so with new folks. She was pretty sure I was a keeper from that moment on. I guess the cat thought so too... the fuzzy butted rat :D ( said with total affection )

Here are my wife's cats; they're country/outside cats so they're in Virginia with her parents. TC (Tricolor) is a calico who passed away last year when she was about 21 or 22. She was a sweetie when it came to humans, but also an avid hunter of rabbits. The orange tabby is LBK (Little Baby Kitten)--this is a deceptively sweet shot of her. She's feral (showed up about 7 years ago at the house with her mom, who later took off) and prone to bite you if you pet her one time too many, although she's getting more cuddly and mellow with each passing year. She generally only comes in the house when it's very cold or stormy, or if we're there; the rest of the time the house is the domain of a spoiled-to-death Chihuahua.

Thanks for liking my pictures of Oogie. I regret to inform everyone here that I had to put her down at 5 yrs of age. This past May 4th (2015). She injured her spine and there was nothing we could do to save her. With only 3 legs, she didn't land properly when leaping off of a dresser. (One of our other cats frightened her on accident, and they both ran...she fell wrong.) She had a great home, better then the outdoor world where we plucked her from.

Ugh. So sorry to hear.

Did her eyes change color over time, or is my imagination over-active, or did you slip us photos of two different cats?

i am so sorry for your loss......The exact same thing happened to one of my girls last year....thankfully she was 16 years old.....but I miss her terribly :(
