Any ideas of any other bassist/s that plays in the same genre as dirty loops (henrik linder)? I'm totally digging their groove in their loopified album. Sick grooves.

Bassists like Henrik Linder?

The music isn't totally the same genre, but check out any modern gospel players (Andrew Gouche, Sharay Reed, Terrance Palmer, Thaddeus Tribbett, etc) and you will see where a good chunk of Henrik's approach originates.
Check out Wojtek Pilichowski. Seriously funky grooves.
Pascal Mulot, too.
Hadrian Feraud, although he's more outside, but still dangerously awesome.
As for Henrick's influences, there's a great article in Bass Magazine on Henrik where he discusses his influence. He names Flea and Gary Willis.
I understand that the style isn't exactly new, which I believe cabcreaser is alluding to (and nowhere does he say that Henrik is influenced by Gospel bass players, although that wouldn't be a bad thing), but Henrik has evaluated several styles of playing to new and unheard-of levels. Good, bad, like, dislike, you gotta admit, Henrik is one of a kind.

Watch this interview ... they orchestrate their music together, so the bass isn't 100% him, sure he can play it but it isn't what he creates. I think music should be made more like that because it is more interesting than what many player that don,t want to be told what to do ...

Just to be clear, I'm not saying Henrik listened to modern gospel music, I'm just saying his style of bass playing has a lot in common with modern gospel bass playing.
