Battery powering a Phil Jones Double Four

No better use of a battery powered amp has ever been conceived in this or any other universe.

I'm using my existing Dewalt 20V Max batteries from my cordless drill.

That's briliant! I have a couple 5ah Milwaukee 18v batteries, but fully charged they are 19.6v. I think I'll be fine for a one hour set! Where did you get that barrel plug from that goes into the amp, if I may ask?

I think I had some on hand for another project, but Amazon would have them: 5.5x2.1mm plug.

It only has 1 DC output jack so you couldn't do the Double 4 AND a pedalboard.

Nope just the double 4. The battery lives tucked in the handle. It's the only way I power the double 4 at this point.

I think the max draw is 4.5 amps. You'd have to do the calculations based on that.

Yes, 1000 milliamps = 1 amp and it's certainly not a stupid question.

Okay, the power supply on an MXR Isobrick is 2000 ma, 18v... so this should power that, right? I'm just doing a mini pedalboard, so no high-draw pedals. I wonder if it would make sense to find a PS that only does 1000 ma, if that's all I need. Would it draw the full 2000, or is it dependent on the load?

I see where you going and interested to see if you get there.

You'd need separate batteries though cause the voltage is different.

That's what I'd do. I think when I get the battery, I'm going to try it on the ps, if it works, I'll get another. I plan on plugging in when I'm at home, but I want a mini-rig to take my 18" scale bass and go do soundscapes on top of mountains and such.

Because that battery pack is discussed extensively on this thread, more than anywhere else on TB, so I figured this would be the best place to get opinions on it. Feel free to ignore.

Here’s what I do for the pedals, small pack with usb converter

Got the battery since it specifically could be set to 20v to power the double four. Worth every penny. Can have it it any room or at work and rich full bass tone is ready.
