My Double 4 works fine with the Krisdonia 25000mah battery. the battery comes with a protective sleeve. I simply made a leather carrying strap to replace the metal one so the battery fits right in.

I've been using a Lenmar laptop battery for about 8 years, lasts at least 6 hours. i actually have a second in case I forget to charge the first one. How's the battery life for that? I am really interested in hearing others experiences, too.
Hey VWbug:I just ordered one using the holiday sales coupons from Sam Ash. Should get here Saturday. When I looked at the price for it on Amazon, I think that battery was also suggested to also buy. Someone that had a nice YouTube vid on the D4 said the new ones don’t come with DC power and I needed to get an old one to be able to use an aux. computer battery. Hope the one I get allows for battery use, it’s a big part of buying one. I looked at the new Boss micro cube videos and read the reviews… the D4 looked like the wiser purchase.
Hey VWbug:
I’m going to purchase a D4 soon. Do the new D4s accept power from a laptop battery? Thanks!
Thanks for the info! When you say “mains”, do you mean AC power (as, from an electrical outlet)? The European ones have been replaced with models that have the power brick removed and run directly off mains a while ago.
I don't know about the US market, though.

Yup! I use a Dewalt battery 20v, bought the batt. shoe on ebay.Hi,
I'm looking at using my Phil Jones double four for busking, but I need a battery to do so. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks!

where did you get a power adapter for a power tool battery?I bought my PJ D4 three years ago and managed to get a second hand Poweradd.
Any how it’s only lasting a couple of hours now so started researching for a new battery.
I was going to get a Krisdonia but then saw you can get an adapter to go on a power tool battery.
Deep joy, twice the capacity at half the price.
I’m in the UK by the way.
When I first started researching power for the D4 three years ago information was very thin on the ground.
I’m very grateful to all those that have contributed to this thread.
By the way I play with three ukulele groups.
Just go to Amazon and type in Power Adaptor (tool maker) and you should find plenty pre-made ones. You'll then just need the proper tip to attach to the D4.where did you get a power adapter for a power tool battery?
Hey DB...Doing the same here with my Dewalt 20v battery, 3d printed my own battery shoe and this setup works great…
