Yes, you will need something like this

to attach the battery wires to the D4. I'm not around my D4 right now but the receptacle for the power should show what the polarity of the plug should be.

You can buy the plugs and sockets that have screw connections so you don’t have to burn you fingers on a soldering iron.
They are marked with +and -.
+ is the centre connection pin which is the polarity of the D4.
I’ve just knocked up a lead,just waiting for the adapter to go on the battery to arrive.

Yu would still have to use the AC brick that comes with the unit if you want to use an external plug source. This is why most prefer the direct DC battery setup. The D4's output is 70 watts, not 20 but I have no idea what input wattage is required. I'd assume those would probably work but no guarantees.

please don't confuse volts (V) and watts (W). none of your links provide a 20V DC out that's required by the D4 (unless you want to run the power brick via 100-240V AC).

The DC requirements of the US D4 is 19 to 20 volts @ about 4.5 amps.

The thing that plugs in between the wall and your amp. If you have a battery with the above requirments I mentioned, you no longer need that part.

yeah, if you use a power bank that has a 110/230V outlet, you can plug the stock power brick in there and you're good, as the power brick will output 20V to the D4.

surely it isn't. 19V DC will work (albeit notably quieter), maybe 21 as well. but not 80 for sure.

it's like powering a 9V pedal with 50V. some won't turn on (due to overvoltage protection), others will just fry.

We have no immediate plan to introduce the X4C in the US.
However, the X4 can run on a battery bank. As long as the power can be 60 watts or more the X4 will work on it perfectly. In addition, this type of battery bank is not just limited to the X4 but is also a valuable tool to power any low-wattage device that requires 120-volt AC power. There are many options available on websites such as Amazon, and obviously the larger the unit the more versatility it has including using much larger amplifiers for a longer duration of time.

to run in from a power bank, you'll need a powerbank that outputs 100-240V AC, like the one that Freda referred. I can recommend Jackery power stations as well.

I just ordered the Double Four from Musician's Friend (along with a carrying case for it). So... I am going to eventually order the power bank that Freda (from PJB) suggested. Just to be clear, this power bank will work with the Double Four, correct? Plugging the D4 power cord plug into the power bank.

I'd expect the X4 and BG-75 to have similar power amps, if not the same, so as a guess -- yes. you might want to confirm with Freda if the BG-75 will work with it.

as a side note, Freda Jones is very helpful and I just recently got a replacement part for a discontinued Phil Jones amp through her.
