BBE Opto Stomp Settings

Just picked up a pristine BBE Opto Stomp 'Blue Light Special'. Just curious where you like to set the COMP knob. I am finding I leave the pad switch at zero and the volume to match the bypassed signal. I'm new to compression and am looking for some advice.

Hey dude, if the 'all knowing compressor review god' or EF Hutton speaks, I WILL listen. I tried a rack mounted Alesis 2 channel compressor once and it was so complicated (and my hearing is so bad) that I gave up on it. Having only one button (Comp) to adjust is the ticket for me. I like it already!
