BBE Sonic Max 422

I have the opportunity to purchase one of these for $45. I am also looking at a BBE 362 sonic max on MF for $100. Is the 422 better? different? feedback ASAP because I'm not sure how long it will last (used gear in a music store)

Out of curiosity, I Googled them and came up with a thread here on TB:

...where the product manager at BBE said they dropped the 422 because it scooped the mids too much.

thanks bong, my new rack project is pretty much designed around scooping mids for slap and a dirty, growling fingerstyle sound. Maybe I can get the store to let me take the 422 out for a spin before I buy it...
btw, if it helps, I play rock/metal and am planning on using the maximizer through a carvin amp, avatar cabs and a SRX650
