BC Rich Mockingbird Bass

Excellent design, extremely ergonomic. It rests very stably on your lap when sitting. And with the waistline located where it is, your forearm rests on the perfect place and your hand/wrist is in the perfect position for playing over the neck pickup.

I own a 78 lefty shorthorn USA mockingbird. It's koa with maple stringers and the best bass I've ever used. You can get any tone out of it. It's boutique quality and the tone and tonal varieties are amazing and the bass is super comfortable to play. It's my favorite bass.

If you play around with it...all the knobs,switches etc plus your amp,you can get just about any sound out of it. The 1 I had before[1982 Mock GRWhite] the 1 in my picture[ 1980 Koa],I removed the DiMarzios[White Mock] and installed some Alembic P-bass pickups in it....and wired it like a Ric[Ric-O-sound] and ran the neck pickup thru a Ampeg SVT head and a V4-B bottom[2-15's in a folded cabinet]. The bridge pickup I ran thru a SVT/SVT bottom[8-10's].

Got it today in absolutely perfect condition!! (looks brand new!) Bought it here from the classified and Parzival packed the living S@#t out of it!!! GREAT deal on a great bass!!! I was worried about shipping from a private owner but dude came through in spades!!!! they go for $700-800 new and I got it for $425!! Couldn't be happier!

That's fantastic. It's always good to hear happy ending. Seller gets a price they're happy with, and Parzival must have or he wouldn't have taken the time and effort
to pack it so well, Big :thumbsup: Parzival any time your name comes up I can chip in " Hey He's a great seller,who takes care of business" and Jerome you get a killer example
of the bass you want for a great price.

Only 2 of these have come up for sale here in the UK in the last 4 months,looks like I'll be waiting for a while.

On a thread earlier this year put lead tyre weights on his bass. But he had a thru-body bridge
so not going to help here. At the start of this thread the designer said he movedthe strap
button slightly and it helped.

Now that the GAS has taken hold I've saw another Mockingbird, this time in the UK.
Either way by the end of next week I'll have bought one. Lord help me 29 basses and
no band ATMO.

Saw old posts (not sure if it was here or not) for a "Heads up Strap" but looks like they may be out of business? Strap w/ pockets for weights. When I let go of the neck on this thing it heads towards the floor!!!

I have a "Heads Up" strap, which has worked reasonably well, although I found the velcro didn't hold the weights in too well (which allows you to open the weight compartment up and adjust from 1 to 3 weights added to counterbalance the diving neck) - and since I didn't need to keep opening it up (I needed all 3 weights), I sewed it shut.

I think I paid closer to $50, maybe less, for this strap - certainly not the $100 someone mentioned.
