Looks sweet. I recently picked up an early 80's eagle myself overall its not in bad shape but needed some tlc. I didn't really buy it as a player, more of just the fact of thinking it looked cool. As it turns out after a set-up the thing didn't play or sound half bad. Great work!
Cool, although I think you should learn this song instead, especially when you see what bass Markus Großkopf is playing

Um, I am not sure I would ever be able to play that. That dude can really play. Plus he has a cool bass in that video. I remember these guys, but was never really into them. I think I am going to have to check them out.
I saw the video for The Mob Rules on VH1 Classic a few months ago, and saw that Geezer was playing an Eagle.

WowI've been waiting for a thread like this for a couple years.
I bought an N.J. neck thru mock. It was an aged white bass, in great condition sans a few extra button holes on the body.
So I'm wondering how you finished yours? I am so anxious to complete mine. I've bought an orig badass and have some seymore duncans that came in it - the 80's kind that have the 3 toggle switches on one of each of the split pickups.
our basses look like they could be brothers.

Epilog – Back down to Earth
After having it playable for about the last two months or so, here are some of the positive and negative things I have noticed about it so far.
Positives
• It sounds great, I love the p-bass pickups.
• The neck is fast and it easy to play.
• It is lighter than the Ibanez it has now replaced.
• It looks cool, and not like every other bass.
Negatives – mostly minor
• It likes to neck dive. It is better now that I have a leather strap on it.
• The strap lock on the front pokes my belly, I may need to find smaller profile locks, go with plain strap buttons, or move the button to the front tip of the horn.
• I get fret buzzes on some spots on the neck. Just an irritation at this point, as the buzzes can only be heard acoustically and not through the pickups. The frets will need to be replaced at some point unfortunately.
• It doesn’t have a wide range of sounds. More variety than a standard P-bass, but still limited from what I am used to. That is the nature of this bird though.
I might change out the rear pickup with a SD Quarter Pound. I have heard a lot about these pickups and am wondering if they would add some punch to the rear pickup.
Thanks for all of your kind words. This project was interesting, fun, challenging, aggravating, and a whole lot more work than I thought it would on the day I brought it home. It was so worth it, though; I am really enjoying playing it, and it looks great, and sounds even better.![]()
