Beatles on Music Man logo?

Hey, guys, dunno if this is a well known fact or w/e that I don't know (google didn't quite help either), but do you know if the rightie and lefty players (with suspiciously moptop do's) in the headstock happen to be two of The Beatles... Paul (the leftie) and John or George?

I know that they didn't use the brand (never seen them anyway), so is this just coincidence? Does anybody know who are these guys supossed to be?

It couldn't be Paul; he's dead.

I always wondered that too.

Left guy is George, right guy is Ringo - without a doubt.

It certainly looks like it, Paul often used to hold his bass at quite a steep angle and John held his Ric pretty much horizontally (as per the logo).

Add the 'mop-head' haircuts as well and there you go! :)

No, in seriousness, the logo wouldn't have worked if one them wasn't shown as being left handed and it simply works better with the necks going in opposite directions.

You e-mailed musicman to find out?
First thing I might have done.

I always thought it was The brothers Johnson, on the cover of their Look out for number 1 album.

Good one...you actually made me laff.
...and supposedly, Louis Johnson had "something" to do with the design of the Stingray (IIRC).

I bought a MM Stingray & 65 Bass amp in 1978. Now that the OP mentions it, I did kinda assume it was something to do with The Beatles...long forgotten about until now.
