I found this site because I was looking up some bass questions online and this site kept popping up with the most useful information. I'm hoping to purchase an old 1/2 size Strunal student bass tomorrow and get some good strings on it to have it sounding decent. I don't need anything too fancy since its a secondary instrument but I am still excited. Fingers crossed.
Also, on a side note here, the bass is very bright for my taste but the strings on it are extremely old so I don't know the exact sound it will have with decent strings. I was looking around on a string discussion on here and found Evah Pirazzi strings might be a good solution, the problem being they are made for 3/4 and I will (hopefully) have a 1/2 size bass. I'm getting mixed ideas from string friends about whether that size difference would be ok or not. Opinions?
