been losing attachments...

I've noticed in the last week that a couple of my posts have lost their ATTACHMENT photos that I had embedded.

the latest one I re-uploaded the pics to a new album I created, and just shared the URLs of the pics instead. But the actual original ATTACHMENTS are apparently lost (???)

inside the source of the original remains the original [ code ] of the lost attachments but now they are no longer displaying the attachment error messages, but rather smilies ...

I'm seeing the attachments just fine in that post... can you send me the url of another post where they disappeared?

No, in that post above I just replaced the missing pics, that's why you see them (replaced this time with "URL" image source links, which the site apparently automatically turned into new attachments).

PS: not only do the attachments go missing, but other attachments in the post get DOUBLED - with extra copies added in ( saw this in the previous one before I fixed it...)

That's odd - I'm not seeing any attachments with that ID in the database. How do you insert your attachments into your post? Do you use the "Upload a File" button?

I use the post-editor's built-in "image" button and its 'Choose a file' button MOST of the time, on rare occasions I use its 'image url' option. I do not ever use the "upload a file" button located under the post-editor
