Get a Magic Hat sampler 12 pack. Last one I got had #9, Circus Boy, Batch #374 and one other type I can't remember at the moment. If you like hoppy beer/ale, Magic Hat is the way to go.

If I was in PA, I'd probably try that Yuengling stuff again. Yuengling hasn't made it this far north yet AFAIK.

Paulaner, Hoegaarden and Hacker Pschorr are the three i have readily available. Ill have to look out for the Schneider. A place around the corner periodically has this Lithuanian White called Baltus Alus that in my opinion rocks. It comes in imperial pints.

I wish I could make a recommendation. Thanks to Alabama's crappy alcohol laws left over from the ending of prohibition, 98 of the top 100 beers according to BeerAdvocate.com aren't available here. (If anyone's curious about this, visit Link Removed for more info)
However, I would have to say Hoegaarden or Red Stripe will probably be my choice for the evening.

I forgot to mention a couple, though I haven't seen them in bottles around here (I tried them on tap) but Konig Ludwig and Erdinger are both fine wheat beers. Erdinger is apparently the most popular in the world. Of the bottled weisses available here, Schneider Weisse is still my favourite though.

Chimay Cinq Cents is what beer was meant to be.

It's brewed in Belgium by monks who have been doing it there for 500 years. They make three varieties, Cinq Cents has the white cap.

I've never had a beer from Belgium that I didn't like.

Like someone said, with the summer season and all... I would also recommend a Saison style Belgian... for example Saison Dupont. Wonderful.

Sam Adams tastes like Ass to me.

I dig Hinekin (sp?), but its not cheap. And the names complicated (a standup comedian did a great bit on how its impossible to order a hinekin and 5 hinekins ).

Serria Nevda products are tasty, but again, not cheap, at least I don't think. Other people buy it, I just drink it from time to time

Then again, beer as a whole isn't really my thing.

Sam Adams does some really good beer - one of the better not-quite-macro-but-still-bigger-than-most-micro breweries.

Their Cream Stout has to be one of my favorite beers. I also enjoy the Black Lager and Scotch Ale.

Beer is not something you "Acquire", it's something you drink! Scotch is something you acquire!

As far as recommendations. go to Canada. That appears to be the only thing the Canadians export and produce in massive quantities. And from what I can tell (not a beer drinker), They are very good at it.

summer is the time for belgian whites and unfiltered wheats. im consuming hoegaarden tonight. mmmmmmmm.

Amen! I bought a 6'er of Hoegaarten last night as a matter of fact. Had some of that, Anchor Steam Beer, and Anchor Liberty Ale as well, but I don't care for them too much as just like a majority of other American microbrews they're over-hopped like crazy. As far as real Belgian whitbiers go I prefer Manekin Pis over Hoegaarten, but it's rather tough to find; moreso than Hoegaarten that is. Lambics are nice this time of year as well as they're tart, crisp, and fruity. I also dig Berliner weisses too since they're on the tart side and are good with woodruff or raspberry syrup or just a little lemon wedge.

Anyway, for the money and as it's readily available I'd suggest trying some Blue Moon Belgian White. It's not as good as a true Belgian whitbier, but for what it is I definitely dig it. Nice & cold with a little orange slice and it's perfect for this time of year. And it's not crazy over-hopped like most American microbrews (although I think it's owned by a major brewer now; Miller maybe?); I rarely if ever drink American beers because of that. I mean what good is it to brew a beer if it just tastes like liquid hops and nothing else?
