Beer and..?

If the beer needs to be mixed, then you need to get a better beer.

I'm not all that big on drinking beer. I like it when it's sweltering hot out though.

I prefer wines and hard liquor for a drink per se. Actually my alltime favorite is a Pina Colada.

I know this is blasphemy but on a hot day I like my beer with lots of ice in it.

I like a wine or liquor buzz over a beer buzz.

I don't mind experimenting with adding things to beer because to me it's just a summer thirst quencher.

I've tried tons of straight micro designer beers and haven't found any I liked of theirs.

When I was young beer was a major food group.

Several years ago my wife bought me a beer cocktail recipe book for my birthday. ~100 pages of beer with fruit juice, beer with soda, beer with hard liquor, punch, herbal essences, spices, this, that, blah blah blah... Makes for fascinating reading.

I cannot imagine actually drinking any of them.

As a youngster we had a cocktail called a "Mudslinger".

To make it you took a schooner beer glass (425ml or 14oz) about half full of ice. Add a nip (30ml) of Tia Maria, a nip of Jim Beam (or Southern Comfort if you like it sweet) and in the room left in the glass add half beer and half coca cola. It sounds horrible, looks even worse, but tastes really nice. The Southern Comfort version almost has a strawberry flavour to it.

Do you still have that book...if so, what is the title of it?

In the days of olde, when the common man spake as thus, "For soothe sire, let us slake our thirsts and quaff this noble libation", when men weren't compelled to sully such a brew of perfection as to infuse various and sundry botanicals or pomes upon it, they would surely shudder at such brash disregard for all that is good upon creation. And so go I. Suffice to say that if your brew no longer satisfies, do not micturate in it, simply select another label.
