Beer and..?

Some of the major beer makers have been putting things in beer just to see if we would buy it.

Things like lime. No thanks.

Beer is an aquired taste. Many of the strong beers like Ballantine Ale don't seem to be around anymore.

I can almost simulate some of the light beers out there now by mixing a half shot of vodka in some seltzer.

Fruit depending on the beer.
Blue Moon-orange slice.
Boulevard Wheat-lemon slice.

I also find that some beers pair well with chocolate, but I don't add it directly to the beer.
Tall Grass Buffalo Sweat, which is an oatmeal cream stout goes good with a bite of dark chocolate!

Yep. My BIL makes what he calls a "Skip And Go Naked". Luckily we've never gotten to that point! Anyway, in a pint glass add an ounce of simple syrup, a shot of good gin, and top off w/a lager. Sounds horrible, but tastes pretty darn good!

I was at a party recently, and they made a punch using:

6 pack Rickards Red,.....its a basic Canadian 5% red ale
1 375ml bottle of Vodka
1 can concentrated lemonade.

Not only was it delicious and refreshing, it packed a good wallop as well.
