I recently bumped into an old musical friend I used to play in bands with back in high school. (He's now Dean of science at a big university) He reminded me of a pretty big gig one of our groups played and I had absolutely zero recollection of it ( late 70s era)!
Anyway in trying to google the archives to jog my memory, I stumbled on something more intriguing... A pretty extensive blog detailing the music scene of the same city - but a dozen years earlier!!
Really interesting to read about all the stuff "before my time" that was going on. This is the link
I Was A Teenage Music Head In the Land of the Newly Wed and Nearly Dead
When I read stuff like this, I get a new appreciation of the "invisible generation" that came before us and set the stage for the rich music scene we were lucky enough to inherit and grow up in!
If you have found anything similar from the histories of "your neck of the woods" , please post the link. Inspirational stuff...
