Beginner player deciding on a bass amp and cabinet

The idea of buying something smaller that has the functions you need.. That might not be very loud on it's own.. But has a balanced DI... And a Monitor speaker wedge to run off the DI... I know my rig isn't great but I have compression 5 band eq both footswitchable an effects loop ground lift pre gain and master volume.. And Balanced DI... It's 15" 75w and I paid $40... And run with an ABY to a $20 Peavey MicroBASS... Now.. You may have a better sounding rig or a lighter one... But for $60 I'm adaptable and sufficiently loud to play on my own.. I also can use my ABY to pass signal to a PA...

Look at what's available used and consider what you really need it to do... And consider buying a PA wedge speaker since your likely gonna need one anyhow... That's next on my list along with a microphone.
