"Begrudgingly" taking the plunge to 5 string ;) Advice needed!

Careful with the Ibanez scales, though: the SDGR basses are 34", but they sneak some BTB 5-strings in that are in fact 35" scale.

You couldn't really mistake to two though, even as an inexperienced player. The BTB has a much wider neck and wider string spacing than the SR, and the body is bigger and heavier too. I like them, but if you're looking for something small and light to suit small hands, you'd know within a minute of picking it up that it probably wasn't for you. They're fairly substantial basses.

I've owned basses from both lines, a BTB 405QM when they were new to the market and an SR3006 Prestige. I preferred the SR.
