man that sure would beat my old schools laney 15 combo. or the horrible crate 50 watt combos at the vca... or, are you sitting down, the jade

My schools set ups sound exactly the same. We've got a 120 watt 15" Laney combo that I hate with a passion. Cannot get one nice tone out of it with my SR5 or my P deluxe...

We've got a few Crate BT50's, the models I think, they're not a bad amp. I can actually get a decent tone out of these plus they're pretty powerful for their size and wattage.

I remember last year we were on senior band tour in Bendigo. We stopped off at a school and had a play with their concert band, they had this 15" Jade combo. Australian made, biggest piece of **** I have played through...

LOL, its probably the same one i used when i toured back in school 4 years ago!!! :D

i loved those school tours round victoria, mmmmm, ancient pearl export kits and jade amps. I remember in year 9 touring to tasmania when i had just started bass after being a piano player for years, i was using my schools squier japanese jv p. I got to use an old fender brx200 amp with built in chorus! we played birdland on that tour and the chorus went off...:) maybe my memories are better than it really was :D

man, i've really derailed this thread now!

Dude, please don't buy that sunburst maple 55-02 Guy has in stock at the bass centre. I'm busting my balls to trade my MIA Deluxe P for that!!!

LOL - race you for it! I bought my amp off Guy, they are all good blokes in at the Bass Centre.

I'm actually heading to Florida next week - gonna drop in on Bass Central while I'm over there, but the model I'm looking at is the cherry sunburst with quilted top. Still don't know about fretboards - I'm one of the ones that has trouble hearing the diff so it's more aesthetics and both look great.

Yeh, I've been a customer there for about 2 1/2 years now. Will never buy from anywhere else, unless it's unavoidable. As for the Lakland, I'd definatly go maple..Just looks absolutley killer with the cherry and the quilt top.

Don't race me for it either, you'll win :p I'm only 16, and I won't be in Melbourne next until the holidays in like 3 weeks...

BTW, that's me on the front page of the bass centre website :D

acually, IMO, behringer stuff is really decent on a hit and miss bassis. i own a paper come behringer 2x10, and i acually kind of like it. but then ive played some behringer stuff at GC, and like someone said before, it had the sound of butt, amplified.

well, there is alot better stuff out there besides behinger, alot. but IMO for the price thier not acually as bad as people make thier products seem.

but enough rambling, just my $.02

Quite a lot! It's rated plus/minus 2db down to 48Hz, and it's fine down to E (41Hz) or so, with a bit of fall-off on the B string after that. Not bad, though, and a nice punchy cab.

However, the NSP210 is rated down to 35 Hz, and reputedly handles the B string even better, but is slightly less efficient, and with lower power handling.

My idea is that I can have 2, 4 or 6 tens depending on need and whim, in a couple of light (and affordable) packages, and I was pleased enough with the 410 to order the 210 "on spec". :)
