Behringer Bass V-AMP Pro - Part II: Get On Back, Jack, Do It Again...

My rig is very clean so I smoothed the response with pink noise/rta/21 band eq. Treating it more like a stage PA than a bass rig.
It did come out pretty damned flat.
(Biamp head, 1x15 + 2x10 w/tweeter. usually x-over'ed at 300 hz)

I'm really liking the tones from the amp but the xlr signal is coming out far more muffled. I'm still messing with it to try to find a compromise.

I just wanted to hear the same tone on stage as the people out front.

Back to my building a rig : I've bought a poweramp... same brand as the V-amp-Pro : Inuke 3000 ! The V-amp and the poweramp live together now in a SKB case , I will post a picture soon.

Next step : to get some sound ! I am considering two cabinets ... the markbass traveler series 151 & 210 . ( = lightweight )

For the Crown XLS power amp series, the special Speakon cable I referred to is only required when running the amp in bridged-mono mode.

For this specific application, using a Neutrik NL4FX cable connector, amp side of cable is wired +1 (+) and +2 (-) to the speaker side wired +1 (+) and -1 (-).

Not sure if anyone is reading this thread or not but I found it doing a search.

I am using a little Fender Rumble 150 with my Ibanez bass. Just bought a Behringer Bass V-Amp Pro and have been playing with it some...not sure if I like it or not yet.

My question is, are there any settings that I can use which will basically bypass the V-Amp and give me the orig. amp sound? I would like to have that option but have not figured it out yet.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me, I look forward to looking around this siteand picking up some tips.

You can create a preset with everything disabled.
The only control left is volume.

At least that's what I do.

If you use the Vamp Design software, you can actually disable the the preamp section, not just turn settings to 0. You can turn off the cab emulation, the preamp emulation, the modulation, noise gate, distortion, etc.

+10000 to using the software, I plug my laptop in, get things the way I want and then use a Midi pedal when we play. I only use about 3-4 setting right now but it is easy to use and fun to play with.

Not much reading involved. You need a $5 USB-to-MIDI cable that has been referenced in this thread, the free software download and voila. It is very intuitive, much more than the button pressing on the unit itself.

Hi,

Reading this thread, I am getting interested for using the behringer v-amp editor software. So, I consider to purchase an USB-MIDI cable on Ebay : "PC USB to MIDI keyboard Interface Converter Cable Cord" ( about € 4,- ) . But .... this cable should not be suitable for windows 7 . My PC = win 7 64 bits, and my laptop = win 7 32 bits ...

Are there any suggestions ? Is it possible to download a special win 7 driver ? would it work ? Or... do I need a special win 7 midi-usb cable ?

I am using the same cheapy cable I used with 32-bit XP as I am now with 64-bit Win 7. Windows 7 will mostly likely already support it as a generic MIDI interface. Mine did without any issues.
