I know you're excited..One thing I found is that it may not be the warmest set up for rig but it is very useable. I printed all the tips and had them laminated onto one regular sheet. I didn't even open the manual after reading how confusing it was. I won't be using it in the studio so I probably will never use it to it's fullest with it's editing and midi capabilities. It won't take long before you're dialing in tones that will work for you..Enjoy!

Behringer Bass V-AMP Pro - Part II: Get On Back, Jack, Do It Again...

I know you're excited..One thing I found is that it may not be the warmest set up for rig but it is very useable. I printed all the tips and had them laminated onto one regular sheet. I didn't even open the manual after reading how confusing it was. I won't be using it in the studio so I probably will never use it to it's fullest with it's editing and midi capabilities. It won't take long before you're dialing in tones that will work for you..Enjoy!

I actually found the manual quite useful. 
When the power went out a few weeks ago, I lit it on fire to find my way in the dark for the flashlight.
Having the Behringer name printed on it, my expectations were low, but it caught on fire immediately and stay lit till I found what I was looking for.
BTW... I DO still love my V-Amp pro...and my B Amps...and my B mixer...and my B interface...yada, yada, yada.

IT'S BEHRINGER PAPER THAT MEANS THAT IT FAILED TO CATCH FIRE AND THEN TOOK YOUR WIFE AND DOG HOSTAGE
I KNOW BECAUSE I MET SOMEONE WHO KNEW SOMEBODY THAT SKIMMED THE MANUAL AT A STORE ONCE AND DIDN'T LIKE IT
With a USB-to-MIDI cable as pictured earlier in this thread:
1. Correctly connect both IN and OUT MIDI to the V-AMP's jacks for same
2. Plug USB end into PC
3. Download and install free V-AMP Editing Software from Behringer
4. You should now be able to control the V-AMP from the editor
My advice? Forget this for now. Play and get comfy with the unit first on its own, which is easier said than done, even if using my Quick Start PDF.

I do that and I get an error that says :
"If you connect a device with its MIDI Thru function active, it cannot respond to scanning. Rescan all MIDI ports now?
|Abort| |Retry|"
Abort just leaves me at a menu thing that does not look like the one pictured previously, and retry just keeps displaying that message. Weird.

You may have the IN and OUT connections reversed or the USB side is not making the necessary contact (try using a more robust USB jack on the rear of your PC instead of the lighter convenience outlets on the front)
... OK, now back to business! Test drive the ROCK CLASSIC + SILVER PANEL with some generous GAIN!
I'd posted in Part I about the output on mine fading out and spluttering...Very upsetting. It wasn't battery, and CharlieC suggested it might be hardware (I'm running 1.07 Eprom, so that may be the issue too).
On a whim I connected to my power amp via XLR cable to the 'Ultra-G' yesterday to test to see if it's anything to to with the 1/4" output. Seemed to behave. Still a little hesitant to gig with it, but we'll see. I also wonder if there's some sort of issue with the loop I was running my pedal board through. Will try using pedals in front instead. Fingers crossed.
Since I hadn't been playing with it, it was a delight to fire it up and hear that 'Rock 2' tone again. The XLR balanced connection is sweet. It really does have a very nice sound. If I can get this thing to behave, and be reliable (....quick, someone insert a Behringer joke here!!!....), I will be set.
I'm using the V-Amp Pro Bass with a Carvin DCM1000 into a Peavey 4x10 with Scorpions. Compact rig (fits in the trunk of my car), with oodles of power, and great tone.
