Behringer Bass V-AMP Pro - Part II: Get On Back, Jack, Do It Again...

No, not really.

For my setup, the output goes to my mixer board, which has the monitor outs going to a Behringer UCA202 audio interface to my laptop. Is that the weird part?

The Vamp Design software uses MIDI to connect and control settings, but not to record.

Ah, ok. We have a Zoom thing that we use for recording so I think I'll be good with that. For Vamp Design do I need dedicated MIDI hardware on my computer or is there like a MIDI>USB interface that you'd recommend?

Incidentally, Is there any reason I couldn't just buy 2 of these: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
and run them stereo? Or even just one of the 15 inch ones. It'd be startlingly lighter than the monstrous Fender and more power.

A simple MIDI-USB adapter is what I use.

There is no reason why you could not use those powered monitors. Loud, good low end. Saves on buying a Power Amp. Go stereo. The stereo chorus and rotary affect are worth it.

Well, even at the normal retail price, it is a good unit for the price. I've recently started making use of the Denoiser due to using pedals in the Pre-DSP FX loop. Between that, a little compression, preamps fiddling...I am having more fun now with my BVPro than when I was taking it to church every Sunday. In a studio-like situation, this thing is way useful.

Yeah I definitely can't wait to start playing around with it. I've just started recording some songs with a friend and I was previously just plugging direct into our recording apparatus; can't wait to finally have a proper sounding bass tone.

When it arrives, be patient with it. Try to get the Vamp Design software working and try every amp and cab sim. I am currently liking the combination of a Gold Panel with a Leslie 760 cab. With a little reverb, its sounds great.

Congrats! For best results, just be mindful of how you set the V-AMP's Operating Mode when recording ("S1") vs. through a real amp/cab ("L3")

Once finally sold on the V-AMP, you may want to consider a Member # in the V-AMP Squad :-)

I've been watching this thread and the part 1 about the Behringer V BASS AMP PRO and on the information and opinions I ordered one along with a Crown XLS 1000. I must say that I am impressed and quite happy by going this route. I have been using Eden rigs for the past 12 years and recently I purchased an Epifani ul410 so I wanted a different sound and approach with this rig(I even put an Aguilar obp-3 in my SQUIER DELUXE JAZZ BASS V).
Thanks to the tips and guide I found posted in the thread I was able to set up specific banks for all my basses. I just stripped down the presets and built them up to my taste for each bass.
I would like to the thank all who contributed to this thread and gave out such valuable information and expertise. That's the great thing about us bass players, we will share the knowledge and we all love a good groove no matter who plays it!! Thanks again everyone for the contributions.

No thanks necessary and way to go on taking a chance on both the V-AMP and the Crown XLS 1000 setup!

For $450 USD one can have a powerhouse chameleon of a bass rig that runs cool and dead-quiet all night long. Includes a built-in tuner, fantastic DI outs, and other goodies, with a total weight of 15-pounds. It's uncanny when you run the rig in a very quiet room or studio and it does not produce any fan or other operating noise whatsoever, yet under your fingers you've enough power ready to shake the room.

True dat..I ran it hard for 2 hours during our service yesterday and not a whisper out of it...I like that kind of performance..My old Eden fan was starting to come on quite often here lately,time for a trip to the shop.
