Behringer Bass V-AMP Pro - Part II: Get On Back, Jack, Do It Again...

As of now I can't say I'm a huge fan of the thing. I did need a new preamp so I'm not at all upset that it only cost me $179 but the effects and presets are absolutely horrible and it's immensely over-complicated and counter-intuitive.

Have you tried the editor software? It lays all your important parameters out on one screen, to make for easy configuration. It also makes it easy to save and arrange your presets, for quicker access live.

Hi, Im new here :)

Read the first thread and downloaded the tip pdfs, thanks for those :)

Ive been using a Vamp2 with guitar for about 15 years, got myself a bass and continued using it.

Just bought the Bass Vamp pro (£69 from Digital Village Uk....bargain!)
Not impressed with the presets, will have to tweak it some.
Had my Vamp2 sounding much better / fatter.

I already have an FCB1010 with UnO (I use with my DAW and synths) Ill hopefully get this setup with it.
(I also have the Behringer Synth Bass and Harmoniser/Ultra Shifter pedals........amazing for the money)

Anyway.....

My BAP is slightly pink/red in colour and has date code 1401 on the box, I presume this is a newish one?

Soooooo.......

I want to program the FCB1010 (with UnO eprom) to control the BAP but cant find a midi reference for the BAP......anywhere?!?!?!!!!!

How are you supposed to program any midi controller to control it if you dont know what midi messages are used for each function?

These might help.

I bought one of the USB to MIDI adapter cables, but am having no luck getting it to connect to the VAMP. I've turned Midi on in the edit menu, and the USB-MIDI box lights don't indicate anything and the Vamp2.exe software doesn't see the preamp when it scans. Any clues welcome... ?

I'm suspecting the MIDI adapter actually...

I don't have my Vamp pro anymore but I had the same problem, it turned out to be the cheap cable. Just in case, did you try swapping the 2 MIDI connectors?

Yeah, tried that. I figure out goes to in, in goes to out... That's the normal MIDI way, but I tried swapping them too.

I suspect the cheapo MIDI_USB adapter too. Thanks for the help and info.
