The cheap ones are really hit and miss. They worked with one of my PC's but not with the other. Lots of posts on the net from people who found they didn't work at all or were buggy.
Hi Guys , recently bought a Bass V Amp Pro ( 2 weeks ago ) for recording . Brilliant tool .
Could not get the editor to work , no matter what I tried , but still recorded brilliantly .
My PC crashed on Tuesday this week , so I reset back to factory settings ( all programs I had installed over the last 2 years - lost / needed to re install )
System - Windows 7 , 64 bit , using M-Audio Fast Track as interface for my recording .
When I re installed the drivers for my M Audio , I had some real bad latency problems , so I searched the web to get the latest drivers .
Installed them , M Audio works ok , and now the Behringer Editor works !
Also my Digitech BP355 X-Edit editor would not work before ..................NOW WORKING OK !
Was the problem the drivers in my M-Audio interface ? .
Hope this helps some other guy who may be pulling his hair out

Update on above...........
1) Removed the latest driver for my M Audio Fast Track
2) Installed the older version
3) Latency problems , V Amp Editor does not work or my BP355 X Edit
4) Removed the older driver
5) Re installed the latest INSTALLER 6.0.6 DRIVER 5.10.0.5133
All now working again !

i've got a problem, i did follow the advices on how to get your own sound, but every amp sim is making noise, it's just when the bass is being played, kinda like high end overdrive.... 
Try a total reset and see if it improves.
I've run into a similar issue with mine recently. It's like something in the first stages is making noise like a leaky capacitor. And it is kind of gated at times, so it only becomes apparent when there is a small signal present.
I just bought a BBE preamp to try. I like the idea of one rack space better anyway, with my Carvin DCM3800L it will fit in a lightweight 3 space rack, and make LOTS of power (over 3000W) and not be heavy.

i did and the noise is there, now it's even there when i don't play, it's getting horrible. even with noise gate turned on, i still get anoyning noise. turning preamp section off, noise goes away.
amp/cab sims are causing it and it's horrible, just horrible. i tried to fix the input gain level but it did not help
How long ago was the internal battery replaced? When it starts failing it can cause a variety of symptoms. IIRC, it's a CR2032 lithium 3-volt "coin" battery.

Its brand new. Bought it few days ago. And factory presets seem not to have idle noise, just a touch of noise while playing. Im really dissapointed cos imho sims sound really good and close to originals. Has anyone tried line6 pod x3 and compared it to vamp? Cos they seem to have similar sims for bass
Got line6 amplifi fx100 and i played around with it. No noise, no glitches, same bass same cable. Imho fx100 even with guitar amps and universal tube ampsim sounds much much better and is easier to setup. :/
I used my Bass V-Amp Pro for years, bought it as soon as it hit the shelves. I always wished the Behringer would have made a single rackspace version that just had the amp and cab sims and the compressor, but not the effects.
I'm hoping that with TC Electronics part of the Music Group now that they re-enter this space. It will probably first be for "Guitar", but maybe they're smart enough to make it work for bass at the same time.
They have all the talent now. I Hope to see some new revolutionary products.

Sorry, then I have no idea. I once had the setting on the XLR output wrong and it caused horrible distortion, hence my question.
