EDIT: Oh, right...duh. So, you EQ the signal in the Vamp to mimic the lack-luster performance of the Warwick. Right.

If I want to have the same sound at home I'll have to EQ the V-amp to do that yes. I'm making some math to use the Behringer FBQ1502 in the post DSP inserts for that.

The wierd stuff is that the Fender Bassman emulation with minimal EQ (in Live 3) sounds great with that that cab (great in the context of my band)

Congrats! Take all the time you need. There are, quite likely, too many options. After months of owning one, I happened upon a combo of Tube pre-amp and Flanger that works really well in the two venues I play.

Congrats! caeman is absolutlly right, I have mine for probably a year or so and I'm still finding new stuff.

BTW, have anyone noticed that when you go to the Cabinet config "menu" on the BVA pro the Deep and Presence knobs light up? At first I thought that it was some cabinet EQ function but those parameters are the same as the ones stored in the preset EQ.

Well...I got to play with my V-amp last night and find that i LOVE some of the tones I am getting. I saved several patches and I seem to be a "classic clean" and "SVT" kinda guy. I play biased toward the bridge pup and set several patches to my liking then equalized the bridge and neck pups and set several more. I'm liking a little reverb or chorus added w/ slight compression, too. -Dann

I'm taking the V-amp to rehearsal tonite to play through the board. I usually stand about 30 to 50 ft. from the stage to hear how everyone else hears me. I'll let ya'll know how that goes -Dann

The V-Amp needs tremolo. I have come to love that effect with my guitar. It is a shame it is missing a Trem/Vibrato effect. The Rotary effect just isn't the same.

This alone makes the V-amp a bargain. It does reproduce some effects very well, IMHO -Dann

Not a fan of the trem, or most effects, but I would rather carry my V-amp than a pedal board any day. That being said, It is a lot of fun to try them all out, even if a could never use them live in a P & W setting. ( I could definitely see the "blue-haired-gals" in the front row passing out at the sound of a phaser) -Dann

I agree. My fav patch is one I've set to "clean classic", slight reverb, slight comp., bass and treb. at 12 0'clock and mids about 2 or 3. Makes the tweaks on the bass into several more usable tones. -Dann

At the two churches I play, I want a more upright-like sound, so I am lower gain. My current favorite is Tube Preamp, mid scooped a small bit, the Deep enhanced, flange set to max depth/speed, but the mix at 9 o'clock so it subtle in the signal. no compression.

It gives me a consistent deep sound that slots underneath the other two guitars.

I blend.

I like classic clean with heavy deep and heavy comp settings. No effects. Fairly low gain, although my bass is very high output so that's out of necessity.

I have 4 main settings that I call Clean, SVT, Drive and Distortion. I'm still building them to my band's needs so on sunday what I say here might change a bit.

The clean is a Gold Panel (which, as a curiosity, is flatter sounding than the classic clean, more on that in a few days)
- 12 o'clock gain
- bass, Deep and presence flat
- max mid with shift 2 leds below flat
- treble 1 led below flat
To me this is as clean as it gets while still retaining that Amp sound that is missing from the bypass mode.

What I call SVT is the sound with a little grit, ironically I ended up not using either the rock classic nor the rock 2.
- Silver Face amp
- Gain 2 leds above 12 o'clock
- Bass flat
- Deep as low as it goes
- Mid 1 and 1/2 leds above flat (1/2 led is when two leds are on)
- Shift 1 led below flat
- Treble 1/2 led above flat
- Presence at 3 o'clock
This is my main sound

Drive is an adapted version of the SVT with a Rat on top, this one still needs a lot of work.
- Silver Face amp
- Gain 1 led above 12 o'clock
- Bass 1 led above flat
- Deep 1/2 led above 9 o'clock
- Mid 1 and 1/2 leds above flat
- Shift 1 led below flat
- Treble flat
- Presence 1 and 1/2 leds above flat
- Drive pedal number 3 with Gain at 2 o'clock, no boost, no split and Tone at 2 o'clock

For all out distortion I use the Ultimate Plus amp
- Gain at 3 o'clock
- Bass 2 leds above flat
- Deep 1 led above flat
- Mids flat
- Treble 1 led below flat
- Presence 1 led below flat.

I'm still experimenting with the compressor so I'm not using it for now, the same counts for other effects.
The cab that most resembles the crap I'm using in the rehearsal room (Warwick 411 pro with horn turned off) is number 17, 1x12' Mid.

Wow, I'm getting 16 pages on this topic. I have one of these units on order and guess I'll be reading here for a while.

Props to CharlieC for starting this thread.

I can't wait for this to get here. it's pretty cheap but those of you that have them seem to swear by them. That is what convinced me.

I play direct through a PA and have been using a multi effects pedal for some variety and also have been looking at amps for a bit. This purchase should allow me to put off getting an amp and hopefully allow me to simulate some amps and cabs to get an idea of how they sound and maybe discover what I prefer.

Well, I better get started on the thread and catch up with you guys in case I have questions. I would hate to ask for an answer that is posted three pages back.
