My goal for a bass rig used to be a GK amp head and a 2x15 cab. Now, I want a Crown power amp and 2 1x15 cabs so I can take advantage of the stereo effects of the V-Amp. Not as easily moved as a combo unit, but oh the power I would have!

Nah...never been the gear-snob type. I even play through a Behringer BXL3000 kick back combo:ninja: (NO shame, here). That being said, A green and black faceplate and green LED's (ala Trace Eliot) would look super cool, eh? (I kid, I kid):p

Oops...forgot to mention- At rehearsal, the guitarist and myself were the only ones who could be there, so I didn't get the chance to run through the board as I had hoped. Will have to wait till next weeks practice (Sun. mornings are just a quick run through and sound check...no time to get it dialed in before service starts).

Of all the modulations effects, it is the only one I have been happy with on bass. It is kinda close to tremolo/vibrato, which probably explains why I like it. Trem/Vibe is one of my primary effects when I play guitar.

Ok guys...Maybe Im thick. (Probably). Ive had one of these units for a couple of months, and have read this thread. I have a couple of questions. When I power up my unit, (after doing a reset) the 'A' light is blinking. So what I did was go into config, and set the operation mode to L3. Then I hit the 'C' button, select a cab, and Im good up to that point. At this point if I turn the unit off, when I turn it back on, should I be at this same setting? Sorry Im new to the pre-amp world, so Im a little lost. Also, I connected it to my Hartke 3500 via the 1/4 inch output to the 1/4 input on my Hartke, (where I normally would plug my bass into). Should I connect it the other way thru the send/return? And if I do, does the input button on the front of the unit have to be on, and also, do I plug my bass into the V-amp or my hartke? Told you I was a little lost. lol... and the last question is, how do you save and recall a user setting? Thanks, I appreciate it.

You sure are lost :-)

But my Quick Start Guide can be a help to you

Plug your bass into the V-AMP's front input jack, and V-AMP's input button should be out (i.e. not depressed, not lit-up)

Connect the V-AMP to your EFFECT RETURN jack over using the front input jack on your amp

Charlie....I did check out your guide. I am able to set the operation mode ok, the thing with turning it back on and not being at the same setting makes me wonder if theres something wrong with it. Theres alot on this unit, and Ive never used a pre-amp or effects unit before. Thanks for the help and the thread.

The operating mode should stay where you left it when you power off then on again. After you save your edits to a patch, there should be no blinking lights again unless you tweak it further. If you tweak a saved patch, the patch light will blink. Should you turn the unit off with a blinking patch light, then that same patch light will blink when you turn it back on again (right where you left off.)

When the A light is blinking on startup, it means the unit has settings currently different than what is programmed in that bank's A setting.

If you press and hold the A for a few second, the current unit settings will become that bank's A setting and the light will stop blinking.
