caeman....I dont recall, Im at work now. I will check it out when I get home. I know that after doing the reset, and turning it on, the 'A' would be blinking, and Id set the operation mode, and go to 'C', play a little, and turn it off. And when I turned it back on, sometimes it would be at the same spot, and other times, I would have to start over cause I all of the controls would be turned all the way down, and I wouldnt have any volume. Like I said, Im new to this, and probably not making much sense cause I dont understand it yet. But yeah, Im pretty lost. lol...I will check it out again when I get home.

OK, still waiting on my delivery but I printed out the manual and read that and also have a copy of CharlieC's PDF quick start. Thanks for that.
I might go through the thread sometime and gather all the tips up and put them in one file. There is a lot of good info there.
Have you considered creating a PDF of those? I'd do it but it's not my info to give away.

caeman....ok....i did a factory reset....it defaults to 'A1', tube pre-amp, and synth on effect. I hold the 'A' down to save that setting, (just testing, dont really want to keep that setting), I shut it off, wait about 2 minutes, turn it back on, and now its on 'A1' and the 'A' is blinking, and the TAP button is blinking about every 5 seconds or so, the AMP selector is now on British 60's, the EFFECT is on VCF+flange, and the level controls are all flat except mid which is about 2 o'clock. Am I doing something wrong?
Yeah it definitely comes back on with different settings.....I replaced the battery this past weekend thinking thats what it was, but didnt changed anything....
My Spidey sense is tingling, something's up here...
Before I succumb to believing this is all operator error, I must ask, was this a new or "pre-owned" V-AMP?
Dr. Charlie suggests the following exercise:
- Select patch 1A (arrow over so that numeral "1" displays, then press the "A" button)
- Set ALL knobs with LED's around them to 12 o'clock position
- The "A" button should now be flashing
- Press and hold "A" for 3-seconds, then "A" should no longer flash
- Now press the "B" key, the LED's should all change around
- Now press the "A" key, and we should hope all LED's go back to 12 o'clock position now
ok, I did it.....when going to 'B' then back, the settings went back to the 12 o'clock position. Im going to turn it off, for a couple minutes, then repost when I start it back up....
Ok, when i fired it back up, its now on A1, but the LED's are no longer at 12 o'clock, the 'A' is blinking, and the TAP button is blinking about every 5 seconds....the AMP and EFFECTS are in a different position as well....
There is a problem with either the battery or the circuitry that holds the memory intact during power-off.
Please ensure that the battery is not at fault, otherwise then see if you are still under some type of warranty or buyer protection as your unit may be in need of service. :-(
Ill probably just pass on getting it serviced, and think about a new one...It would probably cost me just as much..... Thanks for your help....

Equipment failure is not uncommon, despite the manufacturer or purchase price.
Out of curiosity, do you know if you were ever able to save patches successfully and have them intact again after a power-off?
