Behringer BDI21 is farting?

I bought a behringer bdi21 amp modeler pedal about a yr ago and used it with my cheap passive bass, worked great. But i recently got a Cort B4 active bass. When i use the cort on the behringer bdi21, the bdi21 makes a bad farty distortion when i hit the strings, it didnt do that with the passive bass, although now it is starting to do the same, after i began using the pedal with my active cort bass. I know that active basses have a stronger output signal, and is probly why the pedal is farting, but why would it do that in the first place, what is going wrong with the pedal, and why is it starting to happen when i use it with my passive bass which has a weaker signal output?? anything i can do to stop the farting, other than turning down the volume on the bass guitars? When i turn down the blend (tube emulation), it doesnt fart (or not as much as with the blend on full), but it doesnt sound as good. And the manual suggests you have the blend on full at all times. Its really annoying because i actually want to use it.:hmm:

Another thing to add, i have used it with a mic plugged into it, would that be why it now farts? I have heard that you never plug a mic into a guitar amp, but i havnt heard any probs plugging a mic into a bass amp.

Help will be greatly appreciated.;)

Good call on the battery. Batteries last about 45 minutes in these. :scowl:

Second thought would be the drive/gain adjustment, which is probably obvious.

There's a remote chance that the overloaded input from the active bass damaged an op-amp or other passive, but that's a distant third.

Great unit Invalid Link Removed, worth replacing if damaged.

I got a BDI:21 about a year ago too. My idea was to use it live to simulate an SVT amp (like a Sansamp would). However, I made a mistake. About 6 months later I got a Line 6 Bass Pod Xt and WOW! The BDI:21 now sits on my pedal board as a passive DI (end of my chain). Seriously, get rid of the BDI and get a bass pod Xt, it is so much better you won't believe it!
