I've been reading a lot of what's been said regarding Behringer amps/equipment. I just purchased their Ultrabass combo (4 ten inch speakers, 450 watts). I'm pretty excited by the way it sounds, since I'm into simplicity, and a general warm tone, I don't really use the treble/slappy/funky settings that a few have said were problematic (ie. hiss, hum). My very first amp was a reiusse Ampeg svt classic, with a 410 cab. Now, the ampeg was very moody, and while not common, and seeing that some may call this a huge plummeting of quality and tone, I'm confident with the Behringer, and I think it's pretty damn cool for the price.

Hey there, I love behringer also. I was able to get a V-amp 2 for less than 60 dollars (list is 180, brand new)

It's served me well and has made itself even more useful in the past months.

Golly, 4x10, and 450 watts? I feel underpowered now:crying:

I was using a little yorkville combo for gigs with an old band, so the 450 watts of the Behringer makes me feel a little giddy. People have said that Behringer over-rates itself regarding actual watts, but in my opinion the combo does move a heck of a lot of air. Crazy.

I should try the v-amp in front of the combo, since I've heard some good things.

My favorite shop has been selling a lot of Behringer amps for the past 18 months; usually to teenagers who don't have a lot of money. The amp tech says so far they have had very few repair issues. I have yet to try one, but he keeps encouraging me. One of the most exciting bass players I know uses an SVT 350 into a Behringer 210 and 115 and his tone is outstanding. I am dubious, but they are getting hard to ignore.

Don't sweat it, you're in good company. I have 2 Behringer practice amps (the 90 and 180-watt models) as well as a BB115 cabinet (I replaced the tweeter with an MSC cloth to get rid of the hissss) and think they're all great for the $. Nothing has ever gone wrong with the gear and they perform their jobs well.

Thanks for adding *so* much to this thread - but you're too late, the OP has already bought his Behringer gear and is happy with it, what a shame!

To the OP - congrats! I have a BX4500 head and BB410 cab and I love mine too - great sound and no problems to date (18 months now). The only thing I would change is the weight of the cab!! Maybe a combo would be a bit lighter??

I've had mixed luck with Behringer. When I first joined my band, I needed volume, and I needed it fast and cheap. So, I bought the BX3000t, the BA210 and the BA115 cabs to go with it. Wrote plenty of music with it. Went to play my first show, POOF! white smoke pours out of the back of the head, and the show was stopped. Turns out I blew a capacitor in the head. Well, I sent it in for repairs. During that time, I wasn't sure what the problem was, so I thought I burned something major out. I went and got their power amp (the one that's 2400 watts bridged mono). Played through my DigiTech BNX3 directly into the power amp until I got the head back. I used the head as a preamp until recently when I got my BBE BMAX-T.

I've also blown the speaker in the 115. I had to replace that.

Those are the issues I've had with my Behringer gear. Other than that, the power amp does well, and I've had no problems with the 210 yet. And, believe it or not, I get a good sound out of my rig.

Thanks to everybody who wishes me well with the combo. Like a few of the previous posters, I too was amazed that I found something like this in 'combo' form. After doing the SVT Classic with a 410 Cabinet (air conditioner/refrigerator) thing for a while, this all in one 65 pounder is just what I needed.
