Behringer or Kustom?

I'm getting my first bass setup ever, and I was wondering which amp I should go with, and I've narrowed it down to either a Behringer Ultrabass BXL 450, or the Kustom John Moyer Practice amp. I really can't decide at all. The bass it would be going with is a Traben Array 4-string.
Help me if you can.

Might we ask why you have decided on these two amps in particular? Also, what is your budget? What kind of music do you play?

The Kustom is going to be a higher quality product. Search the forums here for past failures and problems people have had with Behringer products.

I'd say go used; a good used Peavey can be had for a song, and is much better quality than the two amps you are looking at now. Check talkbass' classifieds for good deals (or your local Craiglist)

Yeah I was going to say, Behringer doesn't really have many fans here.

Because they were the only two that caught my eye, and my overall budget is $500, but the Array takes up around 270 or 280 or something, and these both have a %15 off discount.

If you want to look new, I'd recommend the Acoustic B100. Its about $250, and an AMAZING amp; very musical for the price.

whatever you do don't go behringer. there are plenty of options available for 500. i would agree that a peavey would be a great starter, just go on craigslist and buy used. you'll be suprised as to what you can find.

last year i snagged a Hartke HA3500 and a 4x10 cab of craigslist for $250.00 in the Dallas area...

shop around there are deals to be had!

hahaha so true. just imagine you're wife tells you she's pregnant and you're both stoked to be be having a kid... 2 days later you find out she was never pregnant and just had a very large turd. that turd is a behringer product, a disappointment on all levels.
