Behringer PMP's...anyone?

I know Behringer's reputation on here but I want to ask anyway. Does anyone on here have any experience with any of their PMP series powered mixers? First, I don't have one...I would like some feedback though. That is if anyone on here has used one. I've read both good and bad reviews on them. Thanks for any info.

I have an older one that sees about 4 hours/week of use, and has been kicking since 2005 with absolutely no issues.
Great bang for the buck, but I don't stress it hard; if you're gonna beat the crap out of it, you might be better off going with something else.

I'll put it this way...in my group the youngest guy is 49 and the oldest is 60. We don't exactly crank it to the limit...lol.
So do you run instruments through it too or just vocals? Thanks.
I was looking at the PMP 1680S and PMP 980S.

The Behringers are set up different than the Phonic I have now. The back of the Phonic has 2 inputs for the mains and 2 for the monitors. The Phonic is 220 x220 watts.
Take the PMP 980S for instance(450 x 450 watts). I hook up one 15" speaker into the "main" input and daisy chain another 15". I do the same with the other side, "monitor", all speakers being 8 ohms. What will I get as for as output on each side? Is that 4 or 8 ohms. I'm not sure on the Behringer. I'm wanting to know the watts output. Would it be 300 watts? I have a link to the specs. Thanks.

I thought with the two 15" speakers(8 ohms each) daisy chained it would be parallel and 4 ohms which would be 300 watts like you said. The dealer with these mixers is trying to tell me that this way is considered as being in series. But he's also trying to tell me that two 8 ohm speakers in parallel would be 16 ohms. I'm not sure but I think he may need a refresher course...either he does or I do.

A few bucks more but you have 3 amps in it instead of 2 so you can run stereo mains & still have a monitor mix. Even if you don't pan anything left or right you still have 2x the power for the mains. Not to start any political rumblings, but made in the USA doesn't hurt either.

PS - you didn't mention anything about what speakers you have/want, but this:

is a pretty good package. Just add mic stands & a pair of speaker stands & you're ready to go. If you wanted lighter monitors you could bump up to these instead:

Either way you're under $1500 for a pretty decent, lightweight, compact system.

The dealer is an idiot. Of course you should have been able to figure that out when he tried to sell you a blowinger mixer.:D
