That's interesting. I've never used an EQ stomp before, and I love my sound, but that might be way for me to have one more tone in the arsenal. Does it effect your tone when it's off? Is your EQ stomp in line with your other pedals or do you use it with a loooper, etc?

bassomane - thanks for the info regarding the frequencies...

I was a little confused by the range of frequencies on the BEQ, but assumed if the Boss pedal was the same, it must be right.

I'm hoping to get 2 or 3 of these eventually to give me different sounds for different styles (my current one is set to take a lot of the top out of my sound when I switch to Pick, as without it my bass sounds really tinny compared to playing with fingers).
I'm wondering about trying one of the guitar pedals, just to get a diffrerent range of frequencies to adjust...

Tried the BEQ at rehearsal last night - with the bass amp up at 'performing' volumes, but with no-one else making any noise, I could just about hear some hiss when I activated the pedal, but only just. There's no way you'd hear it in a normal pub when the band weren't playing let alone when they are!!

All in all - a damn good pedal for the price.

I can certainly understand you feeling that way after the failures. Could you please elaborate on which Behringer products failed, how long you used them, and any circumstances that might have led to the failures? It would be very helpful for those of us who are thinking of buying Behringer.

At the Mole Patrol studio I specified twelve channels of B. quad compressors (ah.. budget studio). We were blowin' up about one per month, until we started NOT powering-up the processor rack all-at-once (NOT the power amp) with a master power switch.

Now that we turn them on one-at-a-time, each with their own front panel power switch, we haven't had a problem for over a year.

We also use one of their Euro-whatever boards. It all works and sounds good, I gotta admit..

Behringer Firebird practice combo amp. Dropped it 4"...that's right, 4" and the speaker cone had a hole ripped in it. Blew my mind. Then, later, a Behringer DI box actually got so hot, it just messed everything up.

As any effect without true bypass it effects the tone. As I like my signal chain as straight as possible I always use a loooper now. I like to use effects sparingly so I kick them only in if I need them. For me this is the way to go.

Has anyone had any trouble getting these things delievered in the UK?
I ordered the UT100 from GAK, and it was scheduled to come on the 15th september, and it still isnt here. The order tracker on their website kept telling me that it was delayed until next week, then when that week came it got delayed until the week after that etc.

In the end I just cancelled it - anyone else suffered the same problems?

when I ordered the bass vtone from bananasatlarge, they sent me the guitar one..I tried it out..and I think for what you want it would work great.. I did get it to sound "neutral" on my bass, and tried the "english" thing too, as I like the sound of AC 100's..but I wanted the bass one, so i sent it back.

the bass di is really nice..has a little bit more top end then the sans..I think..though I might be mistaking hiss for top end ;)

i have opened up both, but I am an electronics dumbell (new category..) I pulled the behr out and stuck it in a metal box..put a new switch on it..hey hey hey..sorry though, I can't tell if it's the same board.

to my ears, there's an instantly identifiable sound from both of these..and it has something to do with how the mids are processed..both have a sort of scooped thing going..which is the 90's equivilent of the "smile" eq..with a little hi mid added. I know the sound, I just don't know the circuit.

The Hartke has that going on too..in all 3 , i always pull the "mix" (blend) way back, otherwise I loose my low mids..hate losing low mids..can't play without them.

Behringer Bass Chorus is now out (and available in the UK) - mine's on order so I'll let you know later this week how it sounds.....

Still no date of when the Tuner will appear (which is a pain as I really need a new tuner)...

They haven't done a Bass Flanger, just a 'normal' one - does anyone have any experience of the difference between Guit and Bass flangers to know how much of a problem this might be??

Sorry to hear that.. The controls seem pretty sturdy to me so far, but I guess it depends on how they are mounted to the PCB underneath.
Did you drop it or step on it or something?

OK - quick update on the Choris pedal (just tried it out in the studio)

I can't fault it - very quiet (no background hiss that I can hear, even with the amp turned up loud).

Wide range of sounds from it.

The level knob is a mix knob - it only changes the level of the 'chorused' sound, not the whole sound (which is not what I expected - but not a problem)

Not entirely sure what the shape knob does - I think it may be changing the shape of the modulation (from a smooth sine wave to something more 'spikey')

Rate and Depth knobs work as expected - normal chorus controls

There's a whole range of sounds in here - and it's not difficult to find a good one.

I'll post another review once I've gigged with it (tomorrow night)


Only complaint I can find is it's a slightly orangey yellow colour, and it clashes with the yellow bass EQ pedal :D

Ordered the BDI21 (sansamp clone) and sent it back...to weak in all areas: not enough boost/cut more noise than my SansAmp, the overdrive was puny to my ears but nice warmth to my acoustic.
I just ordered the Limiter and Chorus (both in-stock) last night from music123 and the EQ was on backorder.
For $20 ea., worth checking out, IMO.
